A little birdie has hinted that Reid may get a shot at Magee if he doesn't get a rematch with Sven Wankke

Nice fight. March 20 at the famous King's Hall in Belfast would be a fitting venue. That's when Magee is next scheduled to fight.

Shows me that Magee has some serious ambition, Reid is no pushover, and should be well motivated after the fiasco with Ottke, and will be even sharper than he was for Ottke too.

Perhaps there is some justice after all.....

Good pick in the Erdei-Gonzalez fight, Dutch.

Yes.

I picked it too, but put robbery at the side. :-?

I still get my points right?

The Reid of today is a hollow shell of the Reid of yesteryear, i take Magee via points. I would not be at all surprised if Ottke never fights again and if he does i doubt he will be interested in granting a rematch to any of the agrieved parties queueing for miles outside his Bavarian mansion 8)

I`ll be interested to see how Magee takes a shot of such a good hitter as Robin...im still unsure about the irish fella.

I think poor competition and relative inactiviy are what has caused Reid's demise, he looked very sharp against Ottke, and he's a lot more experienced than Magee too.

I think it could be a very close fight, and do not by any stretch think Magee is a racing certainty.

Reid did look relatively sharp against Ottke but remember Ottke is an old man who offered nothing of any interest back. Plus as the fight reached the final stages Reid began to tire and i think his lack of meaningful opposition hurt him in that respect, Magee is more of a "live" opponent so he may cause Robin a few more problems. This would be a great test to see if Magee is going to cut it at a higher level.

Yes this is true, however Reid was short of big fight experience and match fitness for that fight, and also he may have looked more fatigued than he actually was, by dint of the fact that he was discouraged from actually hitting his opponent.

He will be fitter and every bit as motivated as Magee, who has not yet proven himself to be truly world class in my book, though if he isn't, he's not far short.

Reid vs Magee would be a 50:50 fight, and I'm firmly sitting on the fence.

Can't say I'm a fan of either, I think both lie in the "over-rated" bracket.

If the IBF order a rematch between Reid and Ottke, will Sven just vacate his titles? The bitch doesn't strike me as someone who has the guts to accept Reid one more time.

It won't be the IBf, i since found out that it was the WBA that Harding went to see, hence the 10k he had to pay. He's going to venezuela to see them on the 22nd. Harding felt that the IBF would have been forced to ask too many questions of their own officials, and as a result would not have granted him an appeal.

There is a possiblilty that Ottke would then abandon the WBA title he won, which would complicate matters, seeing as mundine is now the WBA champion, so what happens there?

What a fornicating farce boxing is.

I agree with you about Reid's partial downfall was that he became understandably dispirited, hopefully if he were to fight Magee then there would be a competent official and Reid would be able to fight his own fight rather than half worrying about none existant indescretions.
