Bredis Prescott, Robbed!

It really pisses me off when a fighter who comes to take an opportunity for himself in another country after slogging it in the gym for months on end gets robbed blind. Credit to McCloskey for the late fightback, but he would of been panned but for the stamina issue.

As i was watching the numbers come in i thought...........
" 115-113 sounds about right for a fighter that was trying to haul himself back after a bad start.............."
Couldn't quite belive it when they gave it to McClosky !!
Fair play he kept in there and was battling to the end and possibly took the last four rounds which were close......But !!!
The kid is no-where near world class level and will get beat going for a title shot.

I had it 116-112 Prescott but when you have a guy with a huge support and quite a few close rounds judges are going to give the benefit of the doubt to the home town fighter. It only requires a one round switch on all the cards to give Prescott the verdict. I think calling this a robbery is goign too far. it was a good fight and with several rounds that were tough to score, McCloskey can consider himself fortunate but its not a Dick Turpin job.

can you believe mccrory gave mccloskey the 12th round?
lets do the maths here
prescott definitely from memory got 1, 6 and 12. mccloskey admitted that he dropped the early rounds and he was shaken up in the 6th and 12th.
that gives prescott a 4 point margin with 9 rounds to play for.
So all he had to do was win 3 out of 9 of those rounds and he gets the win.
Can you give Prescott three rounds out of the following rounds, 2/3/4/5/7/8/9/10/11?

McCloskey won by a round on my card in a close fight, noway was this a robbery either guy could have won

I'm with camcas no way was it a robbery. Could've gone either way. You could make a case for both fighters. I have a feeling the judges never scored the knockdown, if they had it would've been a majority draw. There was only 5 punches difference in landed going into the 12th.

Prescott beat himself with his stamina issues. Maybe he is draining too much?

Another corrupt decision in favour of the hometown fighter. Sick to death of these decisions.
If you had McCloskey winning then you need your head checked IMO. Prescott won at least 6 rounds so that already cancels out a McCloskey win. Prescott knocked him down and hurt McCloskey on numerous occasions, when did Prescott ever look hurt? He didn't.
Typical British judging. Disgusted.

Another bad decision, I had Prescott 3 points up with the KD, McCloskey just wasnt busy enough and I thought a lot of the better cleaner work came from prescott who couldn't miss early on. the late rally was too late for me, a definite hometown decision.
Not quite as shocking as last night's Cox vs Sai debacle, but it's still a pretty bad one.

nothing like as bad as last night
Prescott had the fight in the bag but McCloskey adjusted well and Prescott gassed.
I thought it was close and in honesty thought Prescott had scraped it, but it wasn't a robbery like Cox

Prescott was hitting arms and shoulders most times, save for a few big jabs and haymakers, watch it on mute, mccloskey moved his head with almost every punch, very little of prescotts big swings actually landed on his face. mccloskey fought like shit though.

I did watch it on mute and I disagree with your assesment. I didn't see Prescott's head getting moved over and over, and I thought that he landed hard punches throughout the fight, although he definitely slowed in the later rounds.

I had Prescott by 1 pt but the first was not a kd and therefore in reality I would have scored the fight a draw, don't think in anyway it was a robbery, whilst
accepting Prescott looked decent in spells, there were plenty of times the commentator was crediting him with connecting when in fact you could clearly see some
of them caught gloves or actually missed.
No robbery for me it was a very close fight, a fight of two halfs without doubt.

Not a robbery, although I did think Prescott edged it.
McCloskey has a solid chin. He took some huge shots in there. His defence is not good enough and his work rate is not high enough. Tough lad though.

I never scored it, at the end had no idea who had won, it looked close.
Good fight, nice to see both lads having a go, hardly any clinching at all

The commentary on that round was one of the worst I've seen. Ever.
Prescott was battering him in the last and really stiffened his legs. McCloskey was in trouble.
I had Prescott winning - only just mind.
But, for the second time in two days, the 'winner' is a foreign chap sent home with f**k all.

Agreed.
One thing I will say is that McCloskey has one hell of a chin and is very fit.
Prescott was always going to have to win clearly and to lose by either gassing/foot off pedal is very regrettable.
In saying that, he caned him in the 12th and I thought that he'd done enough.

It doesn't work like this, mate. If a KD is given, score it!

Ian, I am just giving my opinion on whether this was a robbery or not, The referee/judges are dreadful at present and for quite a while, therefore I like to score the fight as I see it and not just
what the referee is giving.
My official verdict as stated was Prescott by 1 round including the knockdown, but once again I say that the first round kd was not a kd therefore I consider the fight a draw.
We have to have an opinion other than what we are told mate, otherwise this forum would be empty.
