Tyson Fury says tomorrow night at the King's Hall in Belfast he will show the world why he is the future of the heavyweight division.

The British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion is back in the ring against North American champion Nicolai Firtha , who two fights ago went the distance with the current WBA World heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin. Fury says he wants to send out a statement to every heavyweight in the World, including the Kltschko brothers Wladimir and Vitali that he is the future heavyweight champion of the world.

Fury weighed in at 18st 1lb 2oz and Firtha weighed 17st 9lb 12oz. 

Fury commented: "I know that I am the most exciting heavyweight in the world and in the King's Hall against Nicolai Firtha I'm going to send out a message to the world, a real statement with a performance that will have the world of boxing talking about me.

"It's so special for me boxing in Belfast and at the King's Hall where so many greats have boxed. I feel this is my homecoming fight because I never got to box for Ireland at the Olympics even though I did box for Ireland against Poland and America and now I have the chance to show all my fans what it means to me to be fighting in Belfast.

"I'm the British and Commonwealth champion and right now I believe I could beat Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko but I just leave it up to my promoter Mick Hennessy when those fights will happen. But one thing is sure, I am going to the top and I'll show everyone why, when I get in the ring with Firtha."

Promoter Hennessy is expecting another riveting performance from Fury, whose victory over World ranked Dereck Chisora in July drew viewing figures of just over 3m on Channel 5 who are screening Fury-Firtha. Hennessy said: "Tyson is on his way to becoming a global superstar, he's the most exciting fighter in world boxing and the Belfast people have clearly taken him to their hearts this week.

"The response has been incredible, wherever he has gone, and now we expect Tyson to give another exciting performance in the ring. The eyes of the World are now on him." 

Best of luck to him - still young and incredibly raw - time is key.

First off, the most exciting Heavyweight prospect in Britain is... David Price.

If Fury fights either of the Klitchskos with in the next year, he's gonna get beat badly...

best win is tony grano

Firtha is nowhere near world class

is expected to fold

and if Fury labours over it...hes going to get the usual criticism

hopefully the next fight will be meaningful

Price is class and i think he will be big. But Fury holds 2 belts and is the one people are talking about, more than Price. If Price knock out McDermott and challenges Fury, things might change, but as of now, love him or hate him, Fury is doing well and for me, i hope they move him on the the next level after this fight. I dont think we know if he's good enough yet but time will tell

I read on boxing scene that Tyson said exactly the opposite:

Unbeaten British/Commonwealth champion Tyson Fury (15-0) is very honest with himself. While his promoter Mick Hennessey continues to hype up his chances, Fury admits that he's far from ready for either of the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir or Vitali. He wants to further groom his skills, perfect his combination punching and get his body into better shape. Fury returns to action on Saturday night in Belfast against Nicolai Firtha.

“I’m not ready. I’m a novice, Klitschko would knock me out,” said Fury to the Manchester Evening News. “I need to go back to basics and learn how to fight again. When I was 14 and 15 I used to fight with 10-punch combinations, now I can’t put two and three combinations together. I’m winning fights, but I can’t do what I did before. I was the fastest heavyweight since Muhammad Ali, but I’ve just gone slow, sluggish. I’m winning because I’m so big, I’ve got a heart to keep going and my chin is all right too. But I’m not winning because of my skill.”

I personally thought it was quite nice to see such an honest self assessment of himself.

I wonder if he's just saying different things to different people or if some of these quotes are just totally made up?

boxing ireland did a great interview with tyson on youtube, i was going to flick through it but ended up watching the whole thing

He's not even the most exciting fighter in Manchester!
