Still avoided the fact that he got emotionally charged by Mayweather's actions. GAV you're as moist as a fast food towelette.

I agree that getting inside an opponents head can gain an advantage but it also backfires often too as it can push the opponent nto being more determind to win , think in terms of de gale s groves , i thought de gale was getting to groves , certainly didnt prove to be the case what it did instead is put pressure on de gale to perform to save face , pressure he ultimately failed to handle

I think the fighter doing the trash talk needs to use it properly though. Mayweather bringing up the quitting aspect is a valid way of getting into a fighters head. DeGale calling Groves ugly etc is just a bit pathetic and can be shaken off fairly easily especially as they are at the same level.

Mayweather is just trying to remind Ortiz that he quit against a lesser fighter

I'm all for the head games and understand them perfectly well as part of the game. My problem comes with the mind games coming from anyone not directly related to the fight (meaning the boxer or the head trainer). You have a guy calling a world champion a quitter amongst other things. Perfectly fine coming from Floyd or Roger, but who are all the hangers-on and what have they accomplished to warrant even a place on the same stage as Victor Ortiz?

As much as I'd love to see Ortiz win this, a guy who for the most part got outboxed by Lamont Pearson is going to have trouble with the counter punching of Mayweather. His style seems to suit Mayweather perfectly. Fingers crossed I'm wrong about this one.
