Neither Kevin or Tony did. Just both stated that all of allegedly's boxers would be there

And neither did George! Just read all their timelines and all any of them said was that there's a big FW press conference in London on Thursday. Not one of them mentioned PPV

it was a total guess lads - can't imagine why else FW would gather all together regardless of their fight dates

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. I think it will backfire if FW puts his big fights on this channel, less people will watch them, less exposure for his fighters. Strange move but suppose he thinks it will make him more money

the new channel is the only thing it could be.

or maybe he is announcing a partnership with another promotor?

Great news for British Boxing imo, because Sky have gone cool on the sport. Not doing Mayweather tells plenty about Sky's commitment. They won;t be doing big domestic deals I reckon once the current ones expire. FW knows it, and wants to do his own thing.

Let's hope he does not try to create a monopoly and shut other promoters out if Sky do drop boxing. Imagine if it was a free-to-air? Could it attract sufficient advertising revenue to pay the bills?

So he going to be on allegedly ppv! How that good news?

Bomber was asking macklin if it's too late for ppv, so if it is even he doesn't know yet. Maybe it will show all Warrens cards and the better ones on ppv starting with the free to air card on the 15th.

Can't see this being good for boxing. Regular british level title fights on PPV can't be good. If Meaty Mick gets more dates with channel 5 then he might start catching the eye of a few fringe fighters.

There's never going to be huge fights on this channel either, the best we can hope for is WBO title fights with low ranking contenders

If allegedly charges a 15 quid monthly fee. How many non hardcore fans would but it?

I suspect it could have something to do with queensberry promotions, (which is fronted by George and Francis Warren). Possibly a merger or something. But it would not surprise me if allegedly was the topic of the day.

So were allegedly to be a channel offering replays of old fights and the occasional on-demand live show, I think it would be a step in the right direction, although I think I'm right in thinking that you require a Sky subscription to gain access to the channel? You would completely lose the casual fan and a fighters ability to build a fan base will be massively effected by it. Viewing figures must be propped up quite a bit by blokes coming in from the pub and stumbling across some boxing.

By putting all your fighters on a boxing only PPV channel, how can you expect any of them to build a fanbase that'll sell 100,000's of PPVs? It'll make boxing even more of a niche sport than it is already

Does anyone know how much investment is required to create a dedicated TV channel - whether it be PPV or free to air ?
I'm totally ignorant on the subject, but surely it must be mega money ?
For instance would it employ its own camera people, production people etc etc or would that be arranged with a sub contractor ?

thats something thats crossed my mind , something that maybe all the promotors could put a bit into (or most) get all their shows on it etc etc , i know its wishful thinking before anyone says it

How will Warren having his own channel get casual boxing fans interested?

His boxers are not going to get the build up they need, it got worse when terrestial TV turned its back on boxing, if Warren has his own channel then pubs and clubs won't show the saturday night fight, as they pay huge amounts already for Sky Sports.

Something I mentioned on here continually. I think the small hall promoters should have worked together to form a boxing channel. It will be really interesting how allegedly runs - if its a subscription thing will they try and secure the TV rights to other shows (there are some really obscure US ones)..... Anyone remember the Fight Network that was Fighting channel - got a mixture of live, obscure US and classic bouts. I hope allegedly (if subscription and not PPV based) does this.

I remember there was a music channel that ran for about 6 months dedicated to one aspiring singing - who was rubbish, but fairly smart. I believe everything about the channel was funded by her millionaire bloke from buying the epg from Sky and all content. Her single flopped and soon after the channel ceased broadcasting. Okay, it might not have been the success story but it can be done.
