Help with injury while sparring....

I'm currently training for a white collar event in November, tonight I was doing a bit of sparring, threw a jab and my arm just sort of popped

and had pain centered in my tricep?
The arm just fell and felt like a dead weight but once it was down by my waist, apart from a dull ache it was fine. I tried to carry on sparring but each time I threw a jab it happened again!! About 4/5 times in all
Still aching now, so any tips on how to sort it out by Thursday (next training) and to prevent it happening again would be appreciated.

get to hospital r doctors to have it looked at you wouldnt want to cause much more damage to it by training on :(

2 choices ,
1 don't feel daft , carry on and probably feel dafter when you get flogged , or you have the towel through in because your boxing with one arm
2 Feel , daft go get it fixed , and maybee win a fight you can tell your grandkids about ,
I know which i would do

Tricep muscle is used for the extension of the arm. Doing so in a quick explosive manner means that there is a great deal of force going through the muscle in a very brief period of time.
It is likely that you have a grade 1 strain of the muscle.
Is there any part of the back of your arm that is sore to touch?
Does it hurt when you bend and then straighten your arm?
If so then ice the area for 20 minutes 3-4 times during the day. Wear a compression wrap around the area for a day or two. Avoid training on Thursday unless you are 100% confident that your injury is not even as serious as a grade 1 strain. When skipping thursday, if you choose to do so, just gently stretch the triceps. Find a stretch (google tricep stretch because i can't be bothered typing out a description) and hold for 20s on 10s off. Do that 3 times, 2-3 times a day.

, i am a former physiotherapy student (many moons ago) and couldnt have said any sounder advice , one thing i would add though is that if you went to hospital you may be surprised to know many of the drs there wont have a clue whatsover about such an injury , if it keeps causing problems go to your gp and asked to be referred to a physio , or if you dont want to wait pop into your local sports injury clinic , youll be able to find one with a quick google search , you might have to pay for an appointment but wont be vast sums of money , maybe £40-£50 ish .

No problem at all. Glad that my years at uni are helping somebody out
One more thing you can do is to take 2x200mg Ibuprofen tablets every 4 hours to combat any inflammation.
