Another undefeated record gone and another trainer given the boot.
Surprise surprise he wasn't happy in training for Mitchell.

Quite surprised by this, lets just hope the change is worth while and he comes back stronger than ever.

Gallagher has just Tweeted this -
"Despite reports regards John Murray I have had no calls , conversations with him just one text and am still waiting to be paid by him"
Lets hope this doesn't turn ugly.

I suspect the 'waiting to be paid' comment will see this turn a little ugly. Understand the reasons for leaving but feel Gallagher should have been told personally (if he wasn't). I bet Murray will be pleased to have Kayes on board again though.

With money being mentioned I think it already has plus it looks like it may have been done by text.

Not suprising. Lets hope its a good move for John. Lets see if he can learn to move his head on the way in and not get hit as much. Time will tell

So this has nothing to do with John Murray drinking heavily at various times during his training schedule for Mitchell?

There is nothing wrong with Marsden, but is he going to be able to re invent Murray? Is he any better than Gallagher?
Fair enough that sometimes you just need a change and something different. Remember though Murray didn't suddenly becoming a bad fighter after one bad training camp. Was Tibbs suddenly a bad trainer after Katsidis?
Fighters have to look to themselves as well sometimes, and sometimes they have just found their level, not everyone is world class.
Murray showed class by what he said in the article but it is poor form if he only let Gallagher know by text and if he hasn't paid him. If true he needs to put that right.
Also is Stephen Smith suddenly a bad fighter? Or a world class fighter with a bad trainer. Maybe he is just domestic title class. And is that such a bad thing? Most would kill to be that good.

He was beaten by the better fighter on the night, simple. Bit harsh to try and deflect the blame onto Gallagher in any capacity.

agreed Terry and for me Murray is too one dimensional, so if Joe Gallagher cant improve his skills, without disrespecting Marsden, I cant see him being the guy that pushes him onto world level.
Gallagher is a superb trainer and a great guy as well, knows his Boxing inside out, he's very thorough and you just need to look at the improvement Macklin, Crolla and others have made under his guidance to see what a good trainer he is.
They have got a few new guys come in of late and maybe Murray wasnt happy with Gallagher spending more time with other fighters?
What will happen with Joe Murray btw?

That is what I was thinking ..... I think both Murrays have been with Gallagher since they were young kids ?
After 30 victories and one defeat the first thing Murray does is sack his trainer !
The link up with Kayes is also interesting, as he obviously fell out with Gallagher.
Although John has a certain style, the likes of Joe and Crolla are more elusive boxers so it is not really fair to say that all his boxers have the same style (although you could argue that boxers with a certain style may also be attracted to his gym / way of coaching).

I mentioned this after the Mitchell fight and it was dismissed as sour grapes from Mancs. He was definitely boozing and I am told that the pair of them came to blows over it when in Germany for the Macklin / Sturm fight.

The issue's with Joe Gallagher is not that he isn't a good trainer. He most definitely is a good trainer, his problem is he teaches one style. Not one of his long term fighters will box and move with him, its normally ear muffs and walk forward. For Paul Smith, Macklin, and John Murray this seemed to work. For Stephen Smith and Joe Murray its not so effective. If John Murray is going to leave I believe Oliver Harrison's gym or Bob Shannon's would be suitable destinations for him

Source?
I was trawling around looking for the above but can't find anything on Twitter about it. John Murray doesn't even have a Twitter account as far as I know.

So neither have been paid.
So the blame shifts from Murray, over to FW then.
Turning out to be a great move so far for the pair so far isn't it ?
Knocked out and not even paid.

Joe had a good run of form, I think 49 wins in a row, then Macklin, Murray and now smith loose and the blames turned on to Joe, it's unfair and Joe wanting his money is completely fair, no one works for nothing, I'm sure the smiths Macklin and little Joe Murray can get the gym on a winning streak again ! Good luck Joe G
