An alcoholic? Seriously, very worrying behaviour. Wish him all the best but he'll get nowhere til he lays off the pop.

Joe Gallagher would never knowingly let one of his boxers drink so soon before a fight. Far to meticulous and professional to allow it!

What actual harm would a night out do 2 weeks before? He made weight right?

i think the point is more about what state of mind he must be in to do this so close to a big fight instead of what harm it will have done to his physical ability to fight.

Not exactly behaviour of a world champion which is what he had his eyes on becoming.

If Murray wants a drink that's his business.

Short of refusing to train him there's little that Joe could do. He's not a football manager who can fine him two weeks wages, afterall.

If that is true, then what a lemon!

Mitchell was the same before his fight with Kastidis, and looked what happened there.

He was his trainer Martin, not his babysitter.

No, Gallagher found him drinking and from what I was told he then chinned John, who then proceeded to leather Joe before they were pulled apart

No one really believed you

Hopefully Murry learns from this , hes not the first and wont be the last to do it though

plenty boxers have been out on the sauce just before fights and if you still win your fight you wont really think twice about doing it again.
