With frank going to allegedly, this will free up a number of dates in Sky's schedule once Frank has run out his contract with them. Granted Mick only has Tyson Fury and he's on C5 doing well, but could Sky try and poach his Fury bills and help build his stable up?

Many years ago ...there was ITV fightnite ....backed by ATV and Granada etc...which showed small bill shows on the relevant channel.....frankly most enjoyable....would love to see small hall boxing on the box....still remember the Joey Mack vs KostasPetrou fight a classic.....think there would be an audience on a regional basis....recently watched the Fury's fights on C5 with my father who doesnt really like boxing...he actually enjoyed them....boxing on terrestial is a must....McGuigan gained his fame on BBC ...Eubank on ItV.....both very good fighters....but ....not great....their greatness came from terrestial TV....sky are ok....but its still the main channels that can make a guy a real household name....

I know its a drea but i'd love to see on Sky Friday ngihts - small hall area title shows etc.

Saturday ngihts British/Commonwealth/Euro title fights (as we have now) plus the odd big american bill in the early hours

I think smaller promoters should be given a chance of tv maybe on midweek shows like in the USA, it will cost companies like sky a lot less money and can bring the younger prospects exposure, thus helping the industry to progress, at least most people in the industry will view, then the real boxing fans and it will bring none boxing fans to the sport as prospects become known.

They were quality, lots of early Matthew Ellis fights and Shea Neary - remember one of his fights when he got cut really badly and the ref said he's got to the end of the round and Shea replied (as the camera man and mic were practically in the ring too) won't fuckin need it and then preceeded to through a huge haymaker that sparked his oppentent out.

I think alot of small hall promoters should be looking at other networks to showcase their fighters. Hatton's smaller bills are on Eurosport, Hard knocks on Premier..... Premier sports especially seem very interested in more boxing, but promoters have to set realistic targets for a tv company that is admitting to speculating to accumulate.

Premier sports show some very obscure sports, sometimes it reminds me of World of Sport when all the sport was on BBC. I've seen Student Rugby League shown live and, wait for it, international womens touch tackle Rugby shown on delayed.... it was literatlly in some park in London and there were about 5 spectactors (no exageration)..... now why do Premier sports show these, cause they come cheap..... so Promoters must look at maybe having a smaller production cost and think about how the promotion might raise the profile of their fighters and potential more sales in tickets, as opposed to making money of the TV company.

Premier sports have expressed an initial interest, not sure if it went further, in ressurecting Channel M's Manchester fight night - but it might be that type of production cost that you would need.

if i was a pro promotor doing small hall shows id consider offering the shows to local/regional tv for free .
that way it helps build up names attract better fighters who want to be on tv and evetually sky may come in and offer some money .

Hatton TV are already doing a series of small hall shows live on YouTube. Last weeks was Mickey Helliet's show at the Elephant & Castle. They said they were doing another one next month in Cleethorpes i think, so the small hall idea is already out there

The extra slots will be dished out to the existing Promotors.
