Linares beats him, probably quite badly.

Mitchell is a good box/puncher but Linares is a different class. Too much speed and boxing ability. Mitchell would be forced into an aggressor role and would get hit a lot. None of Mitchell's opponents, bar Katsides, is anywhere near this level. Plus Linares can bang a bit, when he wants to.

Having watched both guys a fair bit, it's the way I think it would go.

Yes he can but he'll have to be at his very best and it'll be a helluva fight!

Linares is one of my favorite fighters but I think you guys are really underestimating Mitchell here..

Based on the comments on here, you guys make it sound as if Linares is a few notches above Mitchell or something but I totally disagree with that..

Both these guys are highly skilled and it would be close.. It's pretty evenly matched imo...

Linares has been competing at world level for a number of years now. He's a really good fighter i think he would be too much for Mitchell even at his best.

What world level? Hes beaten a washed up larios , chavez , with a one round loss to salgado. He hasnt been fighting nor beating elite opposition. Hes resume is lacking bigtime and this is coming from and avid fan of linares.

Mitchell has beaten prescott and now murray.. Their resume is pretty much the same as far as im concerned.

I don't think Mitchell can get much better than he was in his fight against Murray - He eats a lot of leather, and marks up real easy.

It makes for exciting fights but not longevity.

I thought he was really good at featherweight. He beat Diaz who wasnt a bad fighter who beat Guerrero. More recently Juarez who's more of a gatekeeper now but i'd say Linates has fought the better fighters.

This is probably the main reason why I believe he might be in for a tough night. Then again, what do I know Had some sparring and street fights in the past on a Friday/Sat night, nothing different to most guys.
