Not having a pop at Johny Nelson or McCory, but why can't they get some past superstars of the UK e.g. Naz or Nigel Benn, Joe.C.Z or Lewis or others in that level, 60's-90's greats, to do the interviews and front shows like Ringside. I'd rather listen to their opinions then someone say Nicky Piper's and others (commonwealth level, or won the world championship, but lost it straight away types). In the USA they have Roy Jones, Foreman, Sugar Ray. I know most are happy spending their millions now and living it up in the sun, surley one would be up for it?
It would be nice to see them lot back on TV eh?

Well for one thing those guys may all have bigger fish to fry. Joe C and Naz have featured on Ringside but would they be willing to give up X amount of time for 9 months of the year to be on every week? I'm not so sure. Roy Jones and Lennox used to commentate on the big fights, which is much less of a time commitment than hosting Ringside would be.
Also how good a fighter someone is doesn't always translate into how good a pundit they will be. I consider John Conteh a British post-war great but he was dire when they had him on ringside.

I would love to see Benn on there though, I know he probly isn't the best speaker, but those guys should be more used IF they want to do it (I think). Don't see much of Naz, the odd boxing event; don't think he does much now so he would be a good on Ringside.
Yeah, who's great is who's oppinion, use Charlie Magri or they should have had Henry Cooper when he was alive!
Frank Bruno should be on there also, he'd be great. I'm not saying he was a great, but he was a big star at the time!

I actually really like Benn as a talker, he's compelling and very insightful, always thought he would be a good pundit. Only problem is I get the impression he's not a big fan of the sport these days.

Not a megastar but Bobby Vanzie is one of the best pundits I've seen - another case of a middle rung boxer, no disrespect meant, doing an excellent job on TV.

Reply to J-C I get what you mean, he doesn't seem interested in boxing anymore.

Froch being used again by Sky tonight (ok it is a Hearn bill) so no doubting his credibility!

Vanzie quit the BBC Five Live team for religious reasons.
The superstar fighters on this list would NEVER work live...however, a series of Benn Meets...Bruno Meets...Hamed meets would work. SKY take five hours to record Ringside so a few hours editing a big interview between Benn etc and a fighter should be easy.
Adios.
