We all need to pull our fingers out and have a right rant at SKY.

They take the piss, overhyping kell yesterday and now this, makes me sick that were just paying for poor b level domestic cards (hatton or hearns) with a million presenters talking shit.

In the last couple of years SKY have shown all or most of Pacman's fight ( best fighter in the world right now ), it looks like since Adam Smith took over, we have lost out, SKY should remain consistent with previous years and must show the best fighters in the world and not let these fights go to Primetime PPV!!

We need to tell how annoyed we are about this fight being on Primetime PPV, makes me sick.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do a quick e-mail to sky requesting both, the only way we can change things

Cotto - Margarito is on allegedly (Non PPV but will set you back £10 a month for the privilige of a few live fights and lots of repeats.)

There has been no indication whatsoever that aAcquaio v Marquez will be on PrimeTime. None. It doesn't stack up with their PPV history either so I really can't see it being on PPV.

Primetime tell me they have the Pacman fight.

I've got a bit of sympathy for Sky here. For years they were the only game in town, but now they have two competitive rivals. Where once Sky could virtually be certain of getting foreign fights, they are now having to think differently. I believe a complacency set in during the years when they were the only game in town, which is understandable.

But they clearly will have to step up and alter their mindset towards actually winning fights rather than expect them to fall into their laps if they are to give their subscribers the level of service they've become used to.

Glynn I don't think allegedly will be a long term success. Casual fans dont even know exists also not all the hardcore fans will subscribe. How it going to get 100000 subscribers ? Let's face facts boxing is not important to sky as the viewing figures are poor. Can see boxing being dropped from sky after the Current contracts are up.

I think I'll actually cry.

It's the biggest fight in boxing and we'll be watching it on some 1970's style piss poor view with Duke fornicating McKenzie behind the mic.

I can see some of fighters not being happy about exposure they going to get on allegedly! Sky can up there game if they want but casual fans don't seem interests only in very big fights!

You don't pay Sky for BOXING you pay Sky for SPORT.
Every event has its price. Jesus it's how Sky got started paying over the odds just to secure rights.
Maybe just maybe Sky bid its best price, and Primetime came in with a ball buster of an offer.
Boxing is a minority sport these days. More viewers for darts ffs.
Live with it or switch off.

Amazing to think literatally when the season started (what 5 weeks ago) - we were talking about the amazing quality control of Sky boxing since Adam is at the helm. I just think it a lack of funds! We are getting less fights than we used to on Sky.

Sky have far far more money than anyone else in the TV game. There is no reason for them to be outbid for any fight they want. Maybe they didn't want these fights.

In all honesty this is another Manny Pac con job.

The fight is several years too late. Should be on SKY and I woiuld have recorded it, no way would I stay up for this.

All the other sports have the major events shown in HD why not boxing?

I'd be very surprised if allegedly didn't put up its paywall before Cotto - Margarito - I actually think it goes up this week.

If not, after showing the Bellew-Cleverly card, the Burns-Katsidis card, Frankie Gavin and Cotto-Margarito all for free, there won't be much in the pipeline to convince punters to stump up £10 a month, especially over the xmas period when there'll barely be any live action. As has been said elsewhere on this forum, someone with deep pockets must be funding the current losses the channel will be making and that generosity can't last forever!

Last nights fight was uncompetitive because Brook made it so. On paper it wasn't and to be fair to Sky, already this season we have had McDonnell v Hall, McCloskey v Prescott, Smith v Selby and Sykes v Buckland. All ultra-competitive and all entertaining fights. This is in addition to Barker v Martinez, Rees v Matthews, Cox v Sai and Vitali v Adamek. That's not too shabby for five weeks.

Sky are a Sports channel and not a Boxing channel. If PrimeTime outbid them for fights then they earn the right to show them. I'd rather Sky didn't waste money on bidding for one-sided farces (Mayweather v Ortiz) and instead put money into ensuring the best domestic matches happened. I can think of only one fight this season that's not been on Sky that I'd have liked to have seen (Nishioka v Marquez) but that's quite a niche choice, particularly for casual fans. I'm not sure what other mega-fights that have been on in the last 5-6 weeks that Sky have ignored.

Its ok saying that but we want to watch the cream of the sport and not just domestic fighters. If the dometic were lb for lb the best i wouldn't be complaining.

For example Kell Brook would get well beat by both manny and marquez.

Pacman v Marquez would be great if it was at lightweight or even Light-welter. At 147, it loses most of its lustre for me. I can't see any way for Marquez to look anything other than the old man he is.

Brook would get beat by Pacquiao but would beat Marquez at welter. JMM is simply too small.

allegedly will not get enough subscribers as not enough casual fans watch on sky so why are they going to subscribe. How is this channel going to last. There two live shows of domestic stuff that would not get on sky now. If sky drop boxing who going to show it.

Boxing is almost dead now to the casual fan and although i´m happy that i will see more boxing on allegedly it is bad for the sport IMO. In Spain where i live there are alot of Brit Bars and last night i passed about 10 on my way from home to work as Brook was about to enter the ring. Not one bar was showing the boxing and it was split 50/50 between X-Factor and the darts, boxing it seems is not interesting to the general public.

Thank god for Hennesy's salesmanship. People where I work, who aren't boxing fans watch Fury, because he is exciting and more importantly, because he's on 5.

We might not even need Sky next year with allegedly around.

It's clear that Sky are promoting upcoming British talent more than going for these mega US fights, or even the big German ones.
