Does Usman Ahmed have any chance to win Prize Fighter?

Prize Fighter pulled off a bit of a coup by adding Uzman Ahmed to the line up for their Liverpool located Superfly weight tournament on wednesday, the 29 year old Derby Taxi driver and part-time boxer has become one of Britains most famous(infamous if you like) Boxers due to THAT video on Youtube being watched by over 5 million people worldwide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJPesST-skg

The question is can he win and is he worth a sneaky bet? I guess the answer is probably NO but he does have pretty decent skills if a somewhat fragile chin and like all Prize Fighters it's really down to who he get's in his first fight and how much he has left to take to the next fight. For me personally if he won it would be one of the best Boxing stories of 2011 as he seems like a real character and underdog that you want to do well.

Being realistic though you probably have to go for either Haskins or Lyon.

Nathan Reeve - won 4 (KO 2) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0
Usman Ahmed - won 6 (KO 0) + lost 4 (KO 1) + drawn 1
Terry Broadbent - won 3 (KO 2) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0
Don Broadhurst - won 11 (KO 3) + lost 2 (KO 0) + drawn 0
Mike Robinson - won 4 (KO 0) + lost 2 (KO 1) + drawn 3
Lee Haskins - won 22 (KO 11) + lost 2 (KO 2) + drawn 0
Craig Lyon - won 12 (KO 4) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 1
Ryan Farrag - won 4 (KO 0) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0

Any thoughts on Uzman or who you think will win the Superfly weight Prizefighter?

I think Usman Ahmed is the one they all want to draw first.

You're probably right but i'm sure he'd fancy his chances against some of the novices in the tourney like Nathan Reeve, Terry Broadbent, Mike Robinson and Ryan Farrag and with his jab and move style which has usually been a winning formula in Prize Fighter he may even do better then people are expecting.

Uzzy's got no chance imho, he's tiny and even super-flyweight looks too big a weight for him.

Haskins has to be the fave but over 3 rounds let's hope someone can outwork him cos I hate his style. I'll have a couple of small punts on Lyon and Robinson.

Broadhurst surely has to have ahalf decent chance as well, he was a very decent amateur.

I think Eddie Hearn just put him in for comedy value...

imo There's No chance what so ever that Uzzy will win it, he is a better fighter then that KO shows on Youtube. He was 8.6lb 1/2 for check weigh last week, in that im shocked didn't think he'd get that big, he's the weekest in the line up and im sure everyone will be hoping to draw him..

Dont think he has much chance.

As everyone seems to be dismissing Ahmed, I remember he showed some real heart in his title fight against Chris Edwards. Give him that.

Just realised i'm off work Wednesday/Thursday so i'm gonna go over to this if tickets are still on sale today.

Hopefully Martin will get in, him and Najah Ali (the 2 reserves) imo should both be in there.

I'm going for Lyon to win the thing, think if he does meet Haskins he will outwork him in an ugly, frustrating 3 rounds.

If Broadhurst can get back on form he's a threat too.

Absolutely not, barring completely freak events (including his dancing).

More chance of a Unicorn flying in through a fire exit, with a nude Steve Jobs on the back of it, clutching an Ipad 7 with a 3D Usman-dancing app on the screen.

Not unless he's allowed his taxi in the ring with him.

Thanks

Missed the beginning of the last one but i guess doing it on the night makes more sense in terms of any type of betting problems.

Well done Uzzy, he had one of the hardest draws and did alot better then people were expecting. Reckon on that performance he could have beaten one of the novices.

Thought Uzzy looked a bit subdued on his way to the ring, his earlier dancing was from the heart but here it seemed a bit un-natural. Thought he boxed better than usual though so well done him.
