Haye will always have options as a former Heavyweight champion.... even Liakovich is still getting big fights.

I believe HBO have looked at Haye vs Adamek (a true crossroads fight) - now that would be good.... but seems like Haye has made his decision.

I think it shows that boxing is probably the one sport where the saying 'your only as good as your last result' stands true.

As i have said in a previous thread, the only reason for him to carry on would be for the money or to gain back some of his reputation by beating either of the Klitschko's. Fighting top ten fighters would be akin to what he has already done in the division and wouldn't erase the memory of the Wlad fight, so the only place left is to fight Vitali or Wlad in a re-match. Two simple points here, one is that he won't be offered those fights, at least not for a while and secondly, Haye knows he can't beat the Klitschko's, hence he is quitting.

Haye can walk away with his head held high. He unified the Cruiser division, won the WBA Heavy title and only came unstuck when facing Wlad, the current longest reigning world champ in any division. He is a natural cruiser that suited that weight perfectly. He is simply too small to take on the big boys at HW and he knows it.

I agree completely. Still for me, as it stands whilst he's not retired, our second best fighter behind Froch.

He went to France to win his first world title, then unified this, then became a 2 weight world champion. As said in the previous post, he came unstuck like alot of men before him against Wlad, in his back yard. There is no shame in that. He has fought the best in both his weight divisions and only came unstuck against one of the top P4P fighters
