David Haye retires - of course not!

Step 1: Retire
Step 2: Say nothing will tempt you out of retirement
Step 3: Use your retirement as a bargaining tool to get a decent purse vs Vitali
Step 4: Make a 'shocking' comeback

HOW DULL!

Ive been talking to David this morning and he said he cant put his toe through that much abuse anymore.
His toe has taken a battering for years and building it up for fights is getting harder and harder.
Adam booth agrees that Davids toe cant take anymore and apparently the little piggy may fornicate off to market.
With that i walked away realising that his toe was never once what it was.

The thing is all jokes aside.
He said he lost the fight because of his toe, now is that a good reason to retire??
Nope if he truley thought himself the above then he would be looking for a rematch or a fight with his brother.
I still would like to see him fight at cruiser.

I was a massive haye fan but now i just think he's an arse - he even had the cheek to mention how much he had profited from the ppv events. He had his fans paying out money for dross fights and boredom to then get in the ring with wlad hards even go for it blame his toe and retire.

He's made fools of his fans and the sport by making a quick buck and not even fighting properly to do it.

When you make 20 million quid or so from boxing then you need to give the fans some value for their money. Pulling a smash and grab on the HW division and causing sky to drop alot of boxing is a poor show.

Theres fighter who get paid peanuts so im not interested in how hard boxing is, i've been in the ring fighting for free - and i tell you this there isnt many people in the world who would turn down getting the ring with wlad or vitali for £10 million quid. Id jump at the chance for £10k

Yeah mate or your just a keyboards warrior. He's damaged the sport in the UK that is a fact, and if you're a fighter you enjoy fighting thats also a fact.

keyboard warrior ? why because I don't agree with your post.......If you can't admire a guy who has retired at 31 a multimillionaire and 2 weight world champ then your just envious IMO.........and as for fighting for free ? you must be an idiot aswell.

Im calling you a keyboard warrior because you think you would have to be an idiot to fight for free, never hear of anyone cage fighting or boxing as a hobby? But then think its ok to get rich from a sport and its fans without giving anything back and damage the sport. Fair play to him for getting rich but i dont need to admire him for it.

I would carry on insulting you but i know if you posted a picture of yourself you're going to be some muppet so im not going to waste my time. When ever a poster on here starts saying - you wouldnt get in the ring, or you must be jealous they are always , always gimps, because people always assume that everyone else in the world thinks like them - if you're a liar you think everyone is a liar, if you're a thief you think everyone is a thief, and if you're a pussy you think everyone else is a pussy too :TU:

That is, essentially EXACTLY what he HAS said in his retirement statement:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/others ... -full.html

I'm not sure therefore if you are praising him or damning him

Ricky Hatton stopped fighting at 30 and was a two weight world champion.

But I respect Ricky far more, because he left it all in the ring, instead of making himself look like a pariah as David did.

Probably made twice as much money, if not more.

Yeah, that's the vibe I'm getting.

Can't see him running through that money and needing to comeback either. The way Booth and Haye ran their own show when he was coming up, doubling their money would be a much more likely outcome. Way too shrewd to piss it away.

If Haye thinks that announcing his retirement is going to have the public clamouring for him to come back in what he would hope to be another PPV "Event" he is sadly deluded. The general public don't give a fook about David Haye. Fact.

Haye unquestionably is a talented lad, but like others have said, he has no class whatsoever he is also probably the most self indulgent boxer ever, at least of my generation.

I'm trying to think of someone more arrogant & self indulgent, I'm struggling. anyone?

Haye please have that one last fight with Vitali, I can't wait to see you sprawled out on the canvas.

Vitali would send him to the morgue. It'd be almost worth paying £14.99.

he's still the best british heavy by a mile.

I'd rather see him fight Vitali than retire, even if he has no chance a gutsy performance would go some way to repair the damage the wlad fight has done.

seems like a top bloke to me, don't believe all the primadonna crap that comes out in pre-fight hype. Just a shame he couldn't follow through all the big talk against wlad.
