Check out Kevin Mitchell's opponent tomorrow night. They're taking no chances with the unbeaten former amateur star...

Perhaps Warren is the one that should be looked at. We all know how protective he is, and i've eard him in the past saying he dosn't ant to take risks with Mitchell.

In fairness to Warren (and Powell), Mitchell is still just a teenager and needs to be brought along slowly at this stage. It's just Sky-TV makes it difficult for these young kids to hide nowadays. They used to be tucked away on dinner shows or non-TV shows in the days of terrestrial TV, but that's much harder now.

This the same Dean Powell who lost to Matthew Thirwall because I'm a big fan of Thirwall. I saw both Beardsley matches and in my opoinion Thirwall won both. Is this off topic? Blame the vodka, I forget what time it is./

What's wrong with his opponent? He went two with Silence Saheed! Lol anyway...methinks Mitchell will become Warren's next Ricky Hatton

Has he got a decent fan base down in London?

Yeah doesn't look too much of a stretch for young Kevin. He's got loads of fans building up in the East End by the sounds of it, probably the West Ham fans will start turning out for him if he keeps winning.
A guy at work was telling me he was in the same year at school with Mitchell and still sees him around. Always been the same, very flash and hangs around with the bad boys.
FW must be dreaming of riches with his possible future star.

That's not good to hear. If he hangs around with scum, he ain't living right.

To be fare, the guy who runs his website tells me Mitchell is working hard, and stays well clear of trouble too. His mum is apparently a very strong character ( FW runs to get here tea at the drop of a hat ) and keeps him on the straight and narrow.

i'm not going to be critical of this guys matchmaking in the short term cos he is so young he has plenty of time on his side so lets not be too cynical although i know that can be a hard job with warrens fighters sometimes.
i've been pleading for hatton to be mixed in with top 10 names when he won the british title and were still waiting and he won the british title in october 2000.

Mitchell....

On the contrary, it depends on what you define those things as, because I've heard he is a bit of a party animal, which to me, is not what a world-champion in the making (not mitchell, just a general prospect) should be regardless of potential.

Yes I've heard the rumours too, which is what I hinted at in the earlier post. But seeing as I've no first hand knowledge of his lifestyle, I'll just have to take there word for it...untill he's front page of the Sun that is 8)
