Strength Training

Been boxing a fair while and after talking to my coach, he's saying I need to develop more strength/power. I'm doing the standard circuits that everyone does there, (pretty much a mix and match twice a week, anything from tire flips to squats).
I'm no fan of heavy weights and things and just looking for some way to develop punching power - and all round strength.
Can anyone suggest some stuff.
Cheers

Off the top of my head, example of power routine considering your dislike for weights. You may try (start with the side you want to develop more):
- Medicine ball slow motion push up x 10-12 to failure (working hand on the ball, the other one on the ground, negative phase slow - 5-8 sec), 5-10 sec rest, then
- Medicine ball throw (with the side that was working one in push up) explosively, full power, heavy ball, 8-10 throwss, rest 30 sec, change sides, rest 120 sec
Do 3-5 sets.
Good luck

id aim for things that are going to develop hip strength and power, as well as rotational power. things like lunges, olympic lifts, kettlebells, torsonator, power ropes, plyometric exercises are all good. beauty of all these is it wont hurt to do either light weight high reps, or high weight low reps. O lifting will enhance speed of the body if done correctly, same as plyos. kettlebells are great for hip power and endurance
hope this helps
