I don't follow boxing as close as I used to but was looking through the sate of the champions on the WBC website and noticed that Morales is WBC champion, he seems to have qualified for his shot at the vacant title after losing to Maidana, that was a good fight but hardly enough to warrent a title shot. Am I missing something.

By being a Mexican!
The WBC and Suliaman always seem to favour their own. There seemed to be an awful lot of manouvering by the WBC to get Morales into a position to fight for the title: stripping Bradley of the title for a start; 'ignoring' Morales' loss to Maidana etc etc.
It will be interesting to see if Ajose Olusegun ever gets his shot.

If Morales fights Olusagun before his 64th birthday I'll eat my own feet. Olusagun is like Witter with out the marketability*.
*And Junior had none.

The WBC (very unreasonably) stripped Timothy Bradley and allowed Morales to fight for the vacant title.

Bradley is the "champ in recess" or something now right, which I guess would mean that Morales would have to fight him, not something I guess he would wannt to do for health reasons

After de la hoya and sulaiman settled their beef when he started promoting saul alvarez, a lot of golden boy fighters have been fighting for green belts. Not just world titles but also made up belts like the youth intercontinental title and youth silver champion. Morales also got the title by being one of Televisa's favorites. Televisa makes a lot of money for the WBC because the network's promoters are practically required to have their fighters fight for some sort of WBC belt. Other than being mexican the WBC highly favors Golden Boy and Televisa over any other promoter or TV network.

It's a real shame to see the WBC giving away awful things like the dimond title when they have such a great history.
