Weird, very weird.

Firstly, I wanted Sprott to win, but I felt that Danny could have finished the fight any time he wanted to. When he put together his combinations, he looked dangerous- BUT HE DIDN'T WORK. he just strutted about like an idiot and posed. HE'S NO ALI.

The way Sprott wandered around aimlessly for the last few rounds was inexplicable. He'd ALREADY HURT WILLIAMS- WHY DIDN'T HE GO FOR THE KNOCKOUT?

this said, i thought danny deserved the nod. he's just clearly a better fighter- but this still isn't saying much, obviously.

Sprott didn't look like he even cared that he won.

i'm also pissed off i didn't have a bet on sprott.

if we have yet another one and sprott wins, will they talk of a fifth one to 'decide' things?

i think audley would destroy both of these guys after seeing that.

Danny threw away a sharp start by showboating (referee Parris, who had to ask Danny if he wanted to fight at one point, would have awarded those rounds to Sprott by default), looked exhausted in the middle rounds, which he clearly lost, and while he seemed to nick the last two rounds as Sprott stood off frustratingly, ultimately paid the price for his showboating.
His heart's not really in it any more.

i wouldn't go as far as saying his hearts not in it anymore :x cos he was hurt in the middle rds and comeback well so that shows he has something there but it was a strange one from williams no denying that.

When he weighed in at nearly 19stone I immediately knew he may lose. If youve had as much time to train and you still weigh in ridiculously above your natural fighting weight your asking for it in my opinion, if Sprott v Harrison doesnt happen because of allegedly id say Aud may go for the now vacated (because Sprott has to) Southern area title which may then make the BBBC order a match between the British title holder and Audley. I just feel if Skelton wins Frankie is gonna have another all Sports Network promoted fight.

I would go that far, mate. The showboating said it all. He was cruising the fight, but didn't really want to step it up because he knew he wasn't in shape, mentally or physically. The Sam loss sickened him. He's not willing to give it everything any more.
Perversely, Sprott also lacked the mental strength to give it everything, but the difference in the end was he didn't showboat; Danny did. The showboating cost him the titles.

Sprott had a good defense which he isnt getting any credit for, he never got caught by any big punches either

And he landed a punch that bloodied Dannys nose, so in that respect he won the fight. But who will he fight now will Hide fancy his chances now or will what everybody wants persevere over politics so Harrison gets a title shot, or will we be forced through the boredom of a 4th fight.

Yes, Skelton is definitely in the driving seat if he beats Francis in style. I only ever believed allegedly signed Danny Williams so he could guarantee a crack for Skelton, who has the potential to make everybody rich (richer in Frank's case) over the next couple of years.
His power is immense.

Skelton is a bumbling fighter with little real skill or talent. He took 6 rounds to dispatch holden, so what. I don't believe his power is immense at all. he ain't going anywhere. danny williams could probably beat him.

anyone found it interesting that the british heavyweight rankings according to Sky very conveniently placed all of its own fighters into the top 6 positions? keith long above audley, how can they possibly justify that shit.

That was a bizzare fight. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a robbery, it was very close, and a lot of the shots Williams threw though eye catching were landing on gloves.

Danny looked sharp early on, but simply didn't work hard enough, and turning your back on your opponent is not a good way to win rounds.

Sprott was clearly gun shy of Williams power, which was foolish because he had Danny badly hurt in the 7th, and I think had he come out and gone for it, could have stopped him.

Neither fighter has what it takes beyond domestic level, Sprott and Williams have ability, but mentally don't have what it takes.

Please god don't let them fight again....

It was an awful fight but kept interesting because you never knew what was going to happen next. Sprott came forward enough but everytime he got in range he held his hands up and just stood there?! When he was out of range he pawed out short jabs. Williams was spent by the middle rounds and Sprott could have finished him IMO if he had gone for it, but when Sprott's corner told him he was four rounds down going into the 11th or whatever it was he seemed to mentally deflate. He survived but was the loser on a close decision. However Williams didn't really deserve to win either, he seemed to go into a mental breakdown with all that stupid dancing and head movement in the early rounds, what was that all about? Overall i am often critical of Audley Harrison but he would have finished either of these clowns within 3 rounds last night. Sprott needs to be padded for a while by Warren because he will lose his titles as soon as he meets a decent intense opponent like Skelton. As for Williams well....he may as well retire, he's finished.

Theres no way of padding Sprott now he is champ, he will be called out from all directions. Audley may fight for the now vacant southern area although I'v heard on another forum that Herbie wont be able to because apparently Norwich aint in the Southern Area, where exactly is Norwich then the Midlands.

Richard Bustin from Norwich was Southern Area champion.

I was thinking that coz I wanna see Aud shut Hide up by beating him for the southern area title if he can't get a fight with Sprott because of politics.

Sure, Sprott got lucky (I had it 116-114 for Williams), but in truth I found this fight very difficult to score.

Can't say I'm bothered about Williams' demise though. I walked through the pissing rain to stick a tenner on Sprott to win on points at a whopping 7/1 at Corals. Just incase Danny resorted to targeting his balls again I had another tenner on Sprott just to win at 5/2.

That makes me £95 richer, and I intend to piss away every last penny.

Agreed as long as Warren is part of domestic boxing we are never gonna see the fights we want unless the BBBC order a fight to take place so the only way Audley is gonna get to fight for the British title is to get the Southern area or English titles.
