Got a friend coming over from Oz and the only show in London when he's here is a Sunday 'Left jab' show at York Hall - anyone ever been to one of these?

Are they any good? I havn't heard of any of the boxers really and a lot seem like prospects - are they in evenly matched fights?

Also, how packed do they get / is the atmosphere ok bearing in mind they are on Sunday afternoons?

Any opinions gratefully received! cheers

Miranda Carter is the promoter. Not been to one of her shows but they are often on at York Hall on Sunday afternoons, she used to have the likes of Ashley Theophane and Leon Williams on her shows. Not sure about the card generally, but those two haven't always had the most competitive fights on the show. Undercard may be better though. I'd give it a go just to see what its like.

Peter Vaughan-Nathan Weise looks a good even fight. There's another Micky Helliett promotion at the Coronet theatre in Elephant and Castle sometime in November, you might get lucky that week.

went to a left jab show this year, which had 2 southern area fights as the main events. There was a little delay of about an hour waiting for medics to turn up, but when they arrived the show was a belter a really enjoyable sunday afternoon and will be going again when they have 10 rounders as a main event. I do not like to watch 6/8 rounders as a main headline fight, as the last event was a 6 rounder headline i think i could be wrong. But yes go and i am sure you will enjoy the show
