Another allegedly Balls Up

Once again my Sky+ recording of the Donaire v Narvaez fight from early this morning cut off mid way through the feature bout. Once could be forgiven as an accident but following on from Hopkins v Dawson, this smacks of incompetence.

Agree completely. I got up early before the kids came down so I could watch this. I sat through a shit undercard for the main event only to find again that the fight stopped recording after round 6.
There's no way I'm going to consider subscribing to this channel if I never get to watch the main event in full. This is only going to turn off potential subscribers

In fairness to them I only think the hardcore were up or recording this.

I had the same problem - I get up at 6.30am to watch the Donaire fight (as i did with Hopkins vs Dawson) and it gets cut off mid fight.
It's so simple to rectify-just state the programme is going on for an extra hour.
Unless it's changed in the coming weeks i won't subscribe which is a pity as the British coverage has been good so far.

Did the channel actually stop showing the fight or did your devices just stop recording it?

I haven't watched mine yet but it cut out after the first round of the Hopkins fight. It was scheduled to record from I think 2am till 5am and alot of the boxing from America runs over and finishes late. Sky sports would pick up on this and stop recording at the end of the program regardless of what time it finishes but it doesn't seem to be happening when recording off allegedly and just cuts out .

Is it not the hardcore they are trying to appeal to? Who else is a target for this channel, casual fans? No chance. That's twice now they have messed it up.
I honestly think this channel will be the death of FWanks business, I just can't see anyway for it to survive when it goes subscription, especially as they don't publicize themselves or their fights very well. Lots of non boxing fans were talking about Fury v Chisora but nobody bar the hardcore even knew about Clev v Bellew.

But only the hardcore would watched a fight like that. No casual boxing friends knew the Bellew v Cleverly was happening let alone the channel is was on as publicity was so bad.

A bit hard on Warren to be fair, it used to happen with Sky Sports all of the time. Just manually set the timer.

Why couldn't this have happened for Norton-Williams? Another black eye for boxing.

You have to set your sky+ recording to manual and it will be fine.

Manually record fights on SKY.
1 Go to options.
2 Scroll across to MANUAL REC
3 Enter
Channel Number
Day
Start time
End time
Frequency.
Hey presto you need not watch 3 hours of Boxing and then have the fight cut out mid fight.
Best to set it to 90 minutes after the programme is set to finish, just to be safe.

From memory you can't record the next show after the allegedly broadcast like you can on sky because their isn't one. It's just "program begins at 6pm" message.
They extend the EPG segment which is easily done.

Thanks for the advice on recording manually
The question is, did the channel actually show the whole card live or did it cut out the same as the recording.

I taped it live using the manual record method.Taped the whole show and watched it this morning.

Should've been sorted after the first week. Twice on the bounce is wrong. Yes, you can manually record it, but the point is, you shouldn't have to. Whenever a Sky bill was live in the AM, I taped the boxing plus the programme afterwards (my missus always wondered why I taped the beach yoga most Sundays with the pussy on show), but with BN, you don't have that ability.

Ok cheers

so if the programme finished on the planner but continued past it's allotted time slot did the planner say "programmes start at 8 pm etc" if so would you be able to manually record this period when the channel was supposedly off air? Sorry if it sounds a bit confusing.

Which is a huge problem because the entire purpose of this channel is to appeal to the hardcore - it's a specialist boxing channel!

Exactly! If I'm going to fork out for this every month I don't really want to be fcking around manually recording early morning fights.
