Mate, Kell could KO King Kong in Hong Kong and still certain people would slag him off! It's just the way it is with boxing in Britain.

I thought of Jones aswell but it's rare enough that he fights outside of Oklahoma or Kansas and I'm not sure his manager, who posts on CS by the way, would risk his high ranking against Kell Brook unless it was for a title. I think Ben has made a very good call mentioning Randall Bailey - well known American opponent who still packs a punch. He is also the No.2 ranked contender for the IBF.

Yes, a part of me might think Bailey has too big a punch to risk it.... but then, hey, if people have faith in Brook he will have to face a puncher someday in his career.... just like Khan had too.

I think he has another fight lined up though..... got a hunch he has been nominated for an eliminator for a world title fight, or a silver title fight or something like that.

Others that can provide some good action, and a bit of a name..... Edner Cherry (too small though surely), Michael "No Joke" Stewart (usually durable, good workrate very beatable),

Grady Brewer (if he can make 147) is basically a faded fighter with a decent recent form line - although he lost his last one.

Witter-N’Dou was two steps back for Junior as it turned people off him. Kell’s style is far more pleasing, he’s raised his profile with some good punditry work and while he is calling for a higher profile British rival he is doing it in a way that wins people over rather than alienates them.

Kell iss Witter 2.0. They’ve worked out the bugs and are putting the finishing touches to the Beta testing process before rolling him out for mass consumption.

Could have been so different. Witter looked fantastic for the first few rounds but then obviously decided to save his energy (break his hand, whatever) to enable him to do a flip at the end. If he'd have managed to keep N'Dou down it might have caused a slight stir

Bailey could be fun to watch but would you want to mess around against someone that powerful? Risk v reward it doesn't look good

Exposure ain't going to be be great as I can't see any chance of getting Kell on US tv on this date, surely showtime are going to spend the hour or so they allocate for the boxing to be all about Ward vs Froch, if they show any of the undercard it is going to a US fighter, unless Kell is up against a well know unbeaten US fighter and can't see that happening.

Exposure isnt just about about being on the television mate. Its about being out there showing your face. Lobbying people who are in the know tv execs journos promoters to get behind him give him a shot in the US or in the UK. If Kell goes over there and scores an impressive victory even if it isnt against an impressive opponent it not only gives hi experience on a big bill but might make people or the "important" people those I mentioned previously take notice.

Barry Hearn used to do this all the time take a fighter over to the States even just to have him ringside at a rivals bout it gets his name out there makes people aware of him and that he is interested and means business.
