Wouldn't a poll on Burns-Katsidis be more relevant? As there actually fighting. Just an idea.

Or most likely a domestic battle between two guys beaten by Katsidis.

i would rather see mitchell going back in with katsidis whatever the result with burns. we are all assuming that the mitchell katsidis fight was genuine , but we shouldnt forget that mitchell was all over the place before the fight. im sure he would put up a far better account of himself in a rematch. katsidis is definately a hard nut but boxing is about a lot more than who's got the hardest punch.katsidis can be outthought and outboxed, his strengths negated etc.

Genuine what does that mean? He got hammered in 3 rounds.

genuine in the sense that it reflected accurately the abilities or levels of the boxers.
lennox lewis got smashed by rahman but im sure youll agree that lewis was a far better fighter than the result suggested...

There's no comparison, Rahmans a big puncher who caught Lewis with a great punch, Katasidis hammered Mitchell - I really can't see Mitchell wanting to go in with the Aussie again, I'm sure he still has nightmares about him.

I wasnt making a comparison between lewis and mitchell ( dont think its possible on any level), i was illustrating the point. plenty of rematches have had completely different results.
as for mitchell shittin himself ...i cant see it , i dont know him personaly ,but i dont think he works like that.

Fair enough, I think the only reason they'd ever fight again is if Katsidis was to lose to Burns. How do you think they'd go if they had a re-match? I saw Mitchell at one of the prizefighters at York Hall once, he was with a stunning blonde and took the time to say hi and have a chat, I just think Katsidis has his number though.

I dunno if mitchell or burns for that matter are robust enough to suck up the inevitable punishment that will come from katsidis...but he is fairly easy to hit with a variety of shots, attack being his best form of defence. Stangely enough,in a few ways, katsidis reminds me of the early benn, and i think you need to be fast , cover up well ,spoil his moves at every opportunity , keep him off balance and set him up for some big punches. all easier said than done when some maniac is trying to rip your head off i know , but thats how hes been beaten in the past.
as i said, even if you do everything right you still have to be prepared for some big shots and to go the distance and more. when mitchell fought him the first time he wasnt at the 110% that you need to be (physically and mentally) to keep him from getting steamrollered

Good assessment and pretty much how i see it.

If your vulnerable then Katsidis will expose you.

I think Mitchell would do better in a return with Katsidis but would still be stopped on his feet, though not immediately after Katsidis has had enough of a look to step in and turn up the heat.

He was stepping up about ten levels in class, from some roadsweepers with pretty looking records for the interalphabetty titles to Katsidis.... they might as well have chucked him in with Pacquiao.

On Burns vs Mitchell, I think Burns would steal a close points decision. I think his style of stepping in, throwing shots and resetting would unsettle Mitchell, who prefers the opponent to oblige him. Ricky's jab would be key here too, plus the bodywork which I don't think Mitchell likes too much.

I voted Mitchell who I believe to be the more talented fighter, Burns would come into thing ring with his amazing fitness condition but Mitchell has some big shots to go with his skills.

Mitchell has better dig and some good skills but I have thought for a long time that Burns is very underrated
The swing for me here is that Burns has amazing heart and is very reliable
I vote Burns but very tight call and maybe a little biased
