I must say, I cannot see Sprott being champion for long with that mental attitude. It's a shame, I think ability Wise Sprott is a very good fighter, but he lacks the mental steel to put it into action. He had Danny on very wobbly legs at one point, and then came out the next round in a defensive shell.
Skelton might just walk through him, I would be interested to see that fight though.

i dont think Skelton hits materially harder than Danny though and he certainly isnt as skilled
i get the impression Warren wanted Sprott to win though (for whatever reason)

Big fight for Skelton on Saturday week in my opinion. Holden was also a big fight, and one he passed with flying colours. But Julius has far better boxing skills than Holden and can go 10 rounds in his sleep.
I don't like the fact Skelton banged out that fat Rumanian in one round in his last fight. That's not great preparation. Okay, Francis got done in two rounds by Maskaev in his last fight. That's even worse preparation, but take away the Maskaev result (and Maskaev is lower world class), and there's an awful lot of distance fights on Francis's recent record. This could be a long fight. How will Skelton cope if it is? This fight is quite intriguing.

i think the scales on Friday afternoon will help predict things.
On the sky broadcast at the weekend they showed Francis stopping Pele and i had forgotten how slim Julius used to be!!!
Not entirely his fault, the Big Dog is nearly 40

Good post. Yes, weight for the big boys counts for a helluva lot. We saw that with Danny's weight (the fight was virtually lost at that point), and also when world heavyweight champs Buster Douglas and Lennox Lewis came in shockingly heavy for defences against Evander Holyfield and Vitali Klitschko respectively. Lewis got away with it. Douglas got shamed.

And lets not forget that it happened to the greatest as well. Ali had clearly been lazy in the gym when he fought Leon Spinks, Spinks ended up winning it can happen to the very best.

francis is a good pro but i think he is to far gone, also i would of thought so does warren or julius would not be in the ring with skelton.
