he's articulate, quick-witted and has a well-rounded knowledge of the fight game, plus he's a confident and polished performer in front of a camera, this seems like a natural fit to me.

Boxers rarely provide the "eloquent" presentation that other commentators do, but they do offer alot more tactical and insight into whats going on from a Boxing point of view. Which is what the fan's want.

Love it when a Boxer bluntly puts someone like Lampley or Merchant in their place for their ignorance/fanboy-ism.

As long as Khan is himself, he'll give the viewers what they want.

However no matter how hard he tries, i doubt he will be as bad as Lennox "Definitely" Lewis.

and when I watched a Showtime fight on Youtube I have been very impressed with Antonio Tarver and Andre Ward who was ringside for Carl Froch-Glencoffe Johnson fight. As for Amir Khan he has done the "Special comments" section on Skys bills and I have been impressed when he was been interviewed and done commentary.

No. He can barely string a sentence together when he's talking about himself, I can only cringe in anticipation of how bad he is going to be talking about something as fast moving as boxing.

I anticipate there will be more reptitions in his commetary than a year's worth of episodes of Radio 4's highly successful game show 'Just a minute.'

One for the highbrow amongst ye.

Fun to watch in the ring but painful to listen to. He's inarticulate with a minuscule vocabulary and only seems to speak in time honoured sporting cliched. There might well be a drinking game in how many times he says "dats boxing for you" and "you can't get in a shower without getting wet".

Antonio Tarver the most impressive retired boxer I've heard in the commentary booth for a fair few years.
