Brian Peters has been doing it for shows in Ireland for years.
I actually think Frank used a lot of the same songs that Peters does as well.

couldnt agree more. they do the same muppet thing at the O2 tennis tournament, blaring shitty music whenever there is a pause in the action. I dont want to pay good money to watch top sports action sullied by 30 second clips of fuckin bland earache. even the daft chants by the worst element of casual boxing fans are preferable to this.

Whats wrong with it ? you go to any sporting event they blare music to add to the atmosphere ... why should boxing be any different. i think its a good idea

It is annoying. I suppose it works if your there, at the venue, as you can't hear s*** anyways, but for a viewer its beyond crap.
This is one thing taken from the UFC which simply does not work. Drop it.

blaring music for 30 seconds does not add to atmoshere it fucks it up

you can't hear what they're saying in the corner for a start, the fighters probably can't either.

It's a rubbish idea.
Didn't help that the music they were playing made it sound like some kind of fairground, either. It just doesn't need it. It doesn't add anything positive for a viewer and I can't imagine it does for anyone watching it live, either.
Sounds like the team from Dads Army chose the tunes. Total crap.
