Jamie Mcdonnell closing in

Jamie is currently ranked 5th by WBC over the weekend ranked 3 Shinsuke Yamanaka beat ranked 2 Christian Esquivel for the VACANT WBC title. So now we have a new champion in Shinsuke Yamanaka, that would mean in the WBC rankings Abner Mares as 1 then Joseph Agebeko as 2 and Jamie Mcdonnell as 3.
Mares is fighting Agebeko in an IBF rematch which then leaves Jamie at top contender in there ratings and closing in on mandatory position.
Yamanaka is a very winable fight for Jamie
Team Mac closing in

You'd have to travel though?
Well done on that anyway. Is the Bouziane fight still on?

Yes the Bouziane fight is still on... if Jamie gets mandated then the fight would go to purse bids

I hope Jamie gets his world title shot , and he could beat Shinsuke Yamanaka. But the Japanese boxer looks a typical tough boxer from there. A bit of a loon really. Takes punches to land his own. Check out the win over Iwasa, he really looks outclassed in the first round but came back to stop him in the 10th
Shinsuke Yamanaka is in the red shorts in the video.

Possibly the most improved fighter in the last couple of years. He always had ability, he was just a little young when he was matched with Edwards and then Haskins straight afterwards. Despite there being no shame in those results, they could have caused a real mental problem for the young fighter in the current climate of undefeated fighters. Jamie (and team) deserve huge credit for coming again and showing that a couple of early losses can be beneficial rather than career threatening. Well done lads.
