I think Jeff would struggle against Nathan, to be honest; McIntosh's got a lot more to his game than he's shown thus far. But you're right, though, when you say it would be a 50/50 fight.

To be honest i know nathan pretty well and personally wouldnt want him to take the fight as its a risk , but at the same time id be intrigued by seeing him box the boxrec puncher , Nathan really needs to step up as he looks good when hes looking to jab away at journeymen who come to lose but have you ever seen nathan under pressure ? i have and he didnt like it , maybe hes learned from that , i dont know , id always support local lads but personally think it would be a close fight if he boxed Jeff .

I have, yeah - on his pro debut at the Captial FM Arena. And i don't doubt it would be a close-ish fight between experience and youthful ambition, but i think McIntosh has improved immensely since he nervously edged through his first paid fight. Curtis Valentine is a heavy-handed, non-stop, in-your-face kind of fighter and McIntosh dealt with that well when i saw them spar at Tony Harris' a while back.

Jeff is a brave fighter who i saw smash Dave Curran to a stoppage defeat about ten years ago, when i went to see Daz McNulty box in Wigan, i think. Jeff was like Felix Trinidad that night. Whatever, if they were to box it would be an interesting scrap. But, as ever, there's only one way of settling this...

Were you at that one Tom?? I had it on video and I was gutted to lose it... did you do a report. Dave was/is a really nuce chap lost touch - I remember he had beaten Mark Hudson who was quite highly thought of and I went into the fight full of flu which meant I had to plant my feet more. This is why I think I dropped him so many times. Five or six??

What were your thoughts on it- can you remember it well?

These are good shouts Jeff. Maughan's record is padded. Mcintosh not been tested yet so its well worth a go aint it

I didn't report on it, no, as it was a few years before i started writing properly. But i knew Darren McNulty well and i went up with a few people to see him get swatted in a round by Lee Blundell! But i can remember it - i don't seem to forget any fight I've seen live, which runs into the hundreds and hundreds - and you dropped him five times. It was a long time ago, about 2002, i think?

Yeah definately. I'd like to have one fight on the vip show in december then go for someone well known or more of a name. Its completely up to Kevin Maree and Steve Wood though. I'd absolutely love to box over in the US against a former champion. That would be a great experience/ ass kicking but I'd love to give it a shot.

Lee was a brilliant fighter. Was great times back then with Louis Veitch and Lee Blundell. I was too young to really enjoy it though which is a shame because I didn't value it enough at the time
