He was written off but yet again has gone to the well and brought up a big bucketful of water!

In a career which seems to have lasted an age, he is still there and still a champion, good fighter, a real credit to his trade, well done Colin.

Well said Coco. I've always been a fan of Lynes and it was brilliant to see him turn the clock back.

When he boxes like that he is great to watch. His jab and ring movement is up there with the best in British boxing imo. Thought he was finished though and didn't see that coming at all.

Where next? With Hatton and Brook looking like they have left the domestic scene for the time being, what's a good fight for Colin at this stage in his career with his stock as high as it is at the moment?

What a fight, he fought to a game plan and his skills shone through. I thought he might burn out in the later rounds but just kept going!!

Yep shared sentiments here- great performance from a fabulous boxer.

Great performance from a guy who not many expected to win. He really deserved the victory and the plaudits and hope it leads to a couple of decent paydays now as he has earnt it.

I'd like to see Lynes vs Hatton - and it could be for the WBA interim title.

I have to say; Lynes looked in fantastic shape...though that often (esp with 'older' fighters) is not necessarily an indication of how fresh the boxer is.

If I was a boxer I would never sign for Matchroom, as a boxing promoter Eddie Hearn knows nothing

He puts his fighters in fights that are either too early for them or just fights that they are clearly not capable of winning so he can make a few quid!

Yeah shocking, getting title shots against against Khan, Martinez and Haye, what is Hearn doing for these guys eh?
If I was a boxer, I know a shot at a title would be the last thing I'd want.

Lynes is also with Matchroom, it is not uncommon for promoters to stick a couple of their stable in for a title fight

You can say what you want but this is the same pattern as when his old man Barry came in to the sport

lynes has been with matchroom from the off always had some great fight s with them they r a good team to b with father hearn a great man didnt get to meet eddie but his heart there for his fighters mind like the way he s at ring side shoutin his fighter s on love that team effort

What exactly do you mean when you say 'as a boxing promoter, he knows nothing'? Just because a matchroom boxer loses, that means he knows nothing? I'd much rather promoters made decent fights rather than guarantee their fighters wins all the time.

I reckon the Denton Vassell fight seems the obvious choice, but meybe looking for an easier defence as he will be looking to win belt outright, looking at top ten not easy to see who would be next up given boxing politics wont want a southpaw, winner of Anwar v Finn tonight might get look in.

Turning the clock back sounds like an understatement, he was fantastic really showed what skillfull boxing is all about..
Was at Barking Theatre many years ago when he started out under Graham Moughton and although he has had his ups and downs (mostly ups) this man deserves credit for what he has bought and done for the game and he comes across as a gentleman.

Well done also to Lee Purdy for making such a good contest of it and the sporting manner he took the result, and well done to both sets of supporters who all behaved themselves. Another great fight to grace the famous York Hall Ropes.
