Danny Hunt will now defend his English lightweight title against Birmingham's Anthony Maynard on February 7 at York Hall.
Hunt had been due to meet Jon Honney on the Matt Skelton-Julius Francis bill in his first defence, but Honney has pulled out injured.
Instead he gets former British title challenger Maynard, who boasts wins over Michael Ayers and Dean Phillips.

Good fight this one, very dissapoint in Hunt when he was up against John. Thats why I rank Maynard a little higher at this moment. Maynard can be erratic, and I hope he hasn't developed the Journeyman's attitidude. Otherwise, I think he can pull this one off.

Bloody hell, big shame that. I was pretty confident Honney was going to upset Hunt. Maynard is pretty well past his sell-by now isn't he?

Yes, Honney too much of a threat perhaps!! It always sounded too good to be true.

That's a bummer. I was looking forward to Hunt-Honney. Maynard has the experience but his legs are looking a bit shaky these days.
