Here is a link to a ring action photo of his debut pro fight in New Mexico
Too Tall Jones vs Jesus"Yaqui" Meneses,
November.3.1979.
I believe the 72 K that he(Jones) got for it
was a world record amount for any boxer's pro debut fight.
(Joe Louis only got 50 dollars for his debut fight)
btw Meneses only got 3 K for the fight with Jones.

Yes that was a fun experiment. As I recall, his fights weren't televised anymore after the Menses fight. He did claim that the conditioning he learned while boxing helped him immensely with his NFL career. He was one helluva defensive end.

The Too Tall Jones vs Yaqui Meneses fight(for 6 rounds)
was shown live on the CBS Sports Spectacular.
I havent seen any video of it since, but I remember
it started out looking fairly easy for Jones until about
the fifth round, when Meneses starting hitting him with combinations to the body and in the sixth round Jones went to the canvas.
from a left hook and or was also pushed to the canvas and Menses hit him again .
Jones looked like he had a hard time getting back up.
Here was some of Too tall Jones statitistics
height -6 ft 9 inches
weight- 255 lbs.
reach- 88 inches
fist -15 inches
neck -19 inches
Jesus "Yaqui" Meneses was 6 ft 2 inches tall and 204 lbs.
