In an interview on Iran Barkley on Boxing Insider, "The Blade" was asked if Tommy Hearns praised him after their first fight in which Hearns was shocked in three rounds.
Said Barkley: "Well, you know, Tommy said to me, 'Good fight'. It wasn't much that he could say. They just carried him out."

Barkley's toughness, hard punch and resilience brought him some victories in his career that you just wouldn't have expected.
It is almost unthinkable that a future Hall of Fame shoe-in like Hearns simply could not get to grips with him in two fights!
He also gave Duran a great fight at Middleweight.
Perhaps my favourite Barkley victory was watching him walk through Darrin Van Horn. The reformed street thug simply 'mugged' the preppy college boy on that occasion....

Yes, and Barkley siad after the fight:
"I wouldnt have let him (Van Horn) beat me even if I was drunk".

Barkley should be a stand up comedian with a line like that

Jerry Quarry, I think, was interviewed by some BBC guy, just after he'd knocked stone cold in 30 seconds, the latest Brit heavyweight hope.
The desperate & shocked BBC reporter, seeking some sort of positive for the fallen hero, asked "Well.........did you find his style awkward at all Jerry?"
The good natured Quarry answered "Ummm...I guess he kinda fell awkwardly"

THat was after he had KO'd Jack Bodell in 66 seconds at Empire Pool in 1970.
My father and grandfather went to the fight. I have the program at home.

That must be the one knockout. Nice program to have too. My grandfather used to tell me about the time he went to a big fight - at the first bell he put his hat under his seat, looked up and fight was over!
