I've been with Michael Kirby his whole career the highest fight being Kali Meehan, now in this fight I told Michael you have to keep your defence extremely tight inside and outside. This guy is world class and he will exploit any weakness in the armour. But do you think Michael listened? NO! He still held his hands out in front of himself like Roy Jones and got caught cold. Well, HELLO Iron Rhino you haven't got the speed of a young Roy Jones. Now, rather than man up and say he stuffed up, he left me. I dont mind if he leaves me if I gave him wrong instructions thats fine but thats never happened and I have got video evidence to prove it all his fights. We have had low points before; I remember when Michael fought a bikie and the bikie hit Michael when he was down. The Referee ruled the fight a KO win in the Bikie's favour. But did I turn my back on Michael? NO, I didn't. I argued our case and got the decision over turned to a NO Contest, even if there could have been pay back against me. I didn't put my tail between my legs and run off like Michael has done to me. But what also gets me is David Birchell, Michael's new trainer is getting all the glory for Michael winning the OZ title. When Michael was already at that level years ago. The Colin Wilson that Michael out pointed for the OZ Title was not the same one that beat Alex Leapai for the OPBF Title. The Colin that beat Alex was the one Nathan Briggs beat for the OPBF Title and I'm the one who taught Michael Kirby how to fight on the inside and shut down the distance and spoil Nathan Briggs boxing skills. Anyone just has to get the video of Michael Kirby vs Nathan Briggs 2 to see what I say to know the truth. I have nothing against David Birchell,if Michael didnt go to him Michael would have done to someone else to cover up his stuff up against world class figthers.

P.S; I'd never take Michael Kirby back or deal with him in anyway in the future

Wow Im sorry to hear all that but thats boxing sometimes other trainers can get there boxer to do think they never thought they could do. All the best to you David no good going through life bitter.

I guess David, when you've put a lot of time and effort into training/managing Mick, you can feel frustrated and betrayed which is quite understandable. For whatever reason, that's just one of the many risks you face when going into uncharted waters. What makes it harder is when your family.

Maybe there was a lack of communication/understanding between you both that couldn't be resolved initially. Best if this is sorted offline.

Maybe its time Mick did move on as his fighting style needs to be overhauled IMHO. And Birchell might just be the one to do it. We'll soon find out. But Karma is a Bitch!

Michael is a game, tough fighter, but he was in the ring with a man who has held his own against World Champions.

I doubt that it could have finished up any way other than the way it did.
