Fans of boxing on RTE will be delighted to hear the nasal ramblings of Dave 'Boy' McAuley.

x 2 - most debutants go in with much lamer opponents than this chap.

Eubank looks very well rounded, no doubt.

I don't care how good this lad is or isn't, if he has his dad giving interviews mid rounds and telling the arena how he should exploit opponents misgivings then I'm in!

the opponent is dreadfully negative. Like a punchbag; just covering up. Eubank looks decent though; good speed.

Tyson Fury just referred to himself in the third person. Refreshing to see a succesful pro boxer doing that it is so rare.

MaCauley was a good, very exciting fighter all the same. He wassn't given the credit he deserved in my opinion. He Ko'd Jcob Matlala after dominating him

Chris looked quite good, granted the opponent was negative. At least it wasn't a typical knock over job. The guy showed a tight defence and little else.
Chris showed good speed, instincts, some good skills and a bit of pop in his punches. Could go places.

Good performance from Chris Jr................
It was strange to see him jump through the ropes like his dad and some of those movements in the ring were classic Eubank and he even sounded a bit like dad lol. For his first fight i think he looked impressive and as people have already stated looked a very rounded performer. Long way to go and the opponent wasn't the greatest and very negative, but things look good for Eubank Jr.

I think he is under a lot of pressure and I worry about that as he could be a very good fighter with an unlimited future.
However, being Eubanks son is pressure then that numpty Hennessy piles it on with his usual hyperbole of him being the best Middle in the UK already!!!! I remember him once saying that Fury was the best 22 year old heavy in all of history!!! (Hmmm, forgetting a Mr Mike Tyson, Mr Cassius Clay obviously, not to mention another 400 guys!!!)
Hennessy used to pee me off over Froch as well. He says stuff that makes you almost want to see the guy lose just to see Mick blush.
Seriously, I hate that, I cheer on the other guy due to Hennessey and his mouth

the whole scenario reminds me of Rocky and Tommy Gunn

"Rocky's Puppet" etc. Junior is gonna break one day and tell his dad to fornicate off, surely..

Eubank seems to have an odd, somewhat distant relationship with his son. The lad didn't look at his dad during the post fight interview and received no hugs or even so much as a pat on the shoulder in congratulation. And odd that Eubank should refer to his own son as "this young man"

The words 'odd' and 'Eubank' are made for each other.

I thought that as well. Jnr handled the pressure very well but there was something odd about him.
As for his dad, it was rather odd that he sent him off to Vegas as a teenager to live with non family.
Eubanks is an oddity, and one would suggest a rampant egotist
