If I was an away fighter I'd refuse the fight if a British referee was nominated. They're an absolute disgrace.

Edwards couldn't wait to stop it as soon as Padjik went down the first time. It was only Fury decking him again that allowed it to continue.

Much like Bellew vs McKenzie, complete double standards from that AIDS riddled disgrace.

An english ref and two english judges. I think the fight was all ways going to go to Fury

I am getting fed up to F**K of fights being stopped too early.

The guy had just thrown a punch back when the ref jumped in. Ok, he was a bit dazed, but this is boxing, not ice skating.

It just spoils what was shaping up to be an exciting fight.

Looked like there were some proper muppets in the crowd near ringside.

Problem is that will dominate the aftermath of the fight, Fury was close to stopping him legitimately and he even he was surprised the ref jumped in.

I wouldn't class it as "terrible" - the guy was floored twice..... but I do think it was maybe a tad early.

I would like to check to the tape on the legality of the first KD . It seemed like successive back of the head punches on my first (and only) viewing.

Agreed, i would have liked it to go on for one more KD but at the same time Nevin looked done to me. Fury had a off night and still came back from a heavy KD to beat his man in the next round and you can't ask for more then that.

It was awful. The guy was throwing back and had knocked Fury down heavily a round earlier with one punch ie: he was still very much in with a punchers chance.

How are our fighters ever to get any experience of actually finishing a guy off, if whenever they land a few, some ref jumps in and stops it. If/when they ever step up a level and fight abroad, they will be in for a shock when they hit a guy a few times and the fight isn`t stopped.

You can`t tell me that stopping that fight was the right decision.

Amir Khan goes through a 10th round from hell against Maidana and comes back to take the last two rounds and win the fight. Would that ever have happend in a british ring? Maybe, as he would have been the house fighter and we know how the rules work in th UK.

At what point does it become more than just an off night? Fury has had some sort of trouble with every decent opponent he has faced: Chisora had him unsteady, Firtha had him majorly unsteady, and Pajkic had him down.

Of course not, but the guy was fine. His reaction said it all, he was still throwing as he was stopped. These guys are warriors and he was disgusted by the decision to stop it. Quite rightly as well.

Well clearly his mental state hasn't been good lately and it was his 3rd fight in 4 or so months which is unheard of for a heavyweight at this level.

Channel 5 did have dates for him in January, March and May already booked. I would suggest skipping the jan date and give him a rest till March.

People may want to see a fighter knocked out cold or unable to get off the canvas, but the fella was gone after that first knock down and the ref knew that, which is why he stopped the fight after the second. Watch the fight again and look at the guys eyes after that first knock down !! Fury caught him with a short right hand and it was a powerful punch. When Fury got knocked down you could see he was ok, just slightly dazed, but his opponent wasn't going to recover and it was the right decision !!

Well said, i personally would have allowed one more KD but that was looking like it was going to happen in a matter of seconds anyway.

I would rather a fight be stopped 1 punch too early than 1 punch too late

The guy wasn't even hurt though, he'd almost completly recovered when he got up after the second Knockdown, annoying thing is i think he could have won that fight if it had gone on further. If the Knockdown had been the other way around there is noway Fury would have been stopped so it is an injustice and damaging for the sport!

Well it is what it is. Mick H, working with C5, who are the paymasters, showcasing the star. Fury is not allowed to lose. That is bad business.

Having said that, Fury did ok against a poor opponent, despite getting dropped by a light hitter. Still has poor conditioning and he was gassing himself after 3 with all that mauling and grabbing. Still not convinced by this guy, I know Keith seems to think he will go all the way and given the way the division is, he could well do.

Is he, though, a talented, world class boxer? I don't think so, personally.

It was clearly an early stoppage. The officiating at British fights recently has been very poor and it needs to be looked into.
