Tough but winnable fight, cant see Warren letting it happen though as its relatively low reward either side of the pond.
More likely to see the corpse's of Jeff Lacy & Enzo Mac than this for me...

I'd take it in a heartbeat, but no doubt it'll be a ''can't punch, never been stopped'' opponent for Nathan next unfortunately.

2 Braimah Kamoho (WBO Africa) more like him!

Shumenov has no chance with Cleverly, he "won" the title with a home awfull decision in Las Vegas over spanish Gabriel Campillo, who won Shumenov in Kazhakstan. Beibut is a very poor world champion, but all know who the WBA is...

Rose tinted glasses?
Yes Shumenov didnt deserve the win against Campillo, but Cleverly was given a vacant title against a sub standard opponent (not saying he was awful) . Both are untested at the top level and to me its a toss up match with Cleverly as a close favourite, but Shumenov is not worth the reards he brings.

Cleverly struggled over several rounds with both Mohamedi and Bellew, and he was rocked by Kuziemski. Shumenov is better than all three of these fighters and while he did struggle with Campilo, he also outclassed Campilo-conqueror Viacheslav Uzelkov, who was ranked in the top ten at the time.
I would favor Clev, but Shumenov DEFINITELY has a chance.

However good FW is domestically and getting fighters a world title, he's not good at giving fighters career defining fights and getting big names. I honestly think this is going to become more difficult now he is on allegedly.
How is he going to afford a big name american/canadian (Hopkins, Dawson or Pascal) when he wont have much tv money coming in? If Clev does go on to fight one of these, he will get hardly any share of US pay per view as he FW has very little to offer them in terms of UK tv money

Shumenov would destroy Cleverly. How does anyone give any credit to this latest clueless FW wonder? Cleverley will be carefully lined up for his entire career, until he gets cocky, thinks he's in the same league as Hatton and Calzaghe and leaves Warren seeking 'bigger fights'. That's if he doesn't get stood on his head before he even departs.

Spot on - Allegedly is a European level promotor in that his best fighters have to leave him to get to the 'elite' level.

It's not that he can't, he prefers not to incase their heads get turned I think.
A lot of fighters are happy to get a world title, rack up the defences and rake in the cash, there aren't many that have left him and gone on to bigger and better things, a fair few have either faded into obscurity or promptly been knocked the f**k out. It's only really Hatton, Calzaghe and Khan in recent times that have succeeded.

yes, because I need to be stuck under a rock to think Cleverley sucks
cool argument bro

I'm not negative towards UK fighters. I'm negative towards FW hype machines with more promotion than substance. i guess we will see how much faith Cleverley's promoter has in him by the quality of his opposition... will he put nathan anywhere near Shumenov? if he doesn't it may speak volumes...allegedly.
