That's another great interview by McRae - got to wish Walsh all the best after what he has came through.

Great article, almost had me in tears. Can only wish Walsh the best in his boxing career.

What a fantastic article, brilliant. Donald McRae has the rare ability to connect with fighters that few writers have. He did the same with James Toney in Dark Trade.

God you really want to see Liam Walsh do well after reading that. I once knew a couple like his mum and step dad, really lovely people who really loved their kids, but were just so hopelessly hooked on smack that it would have taken a miracle to get them to stop.

I'll be following his career now, and would have definitely watched last night if I'd read this first.

Someone needs to get Mike Leigh or Ken Loach on the blower.

He's a nice lad, Liam. I used to see him spar at Chris Aston's gym in Huddersfield when I was uni. It was about 2009 and i remember watching him spar Tyrone Nurse and James Hare said he had something. So far, he's been proven right.

Inspirational stuff that article! A great read and I will be following him for sure.

cracking read I hope he does well. Even if he doesn't make mega bucks you can sense boxing is doing him more good than harm. I'll look out for him from now on - a boxing "Walsh" that I can actually like for a change.

what this fella has been through, it will only make him more stronger and determent to succeed.
