He said there were three options. The belt holders are Pacquiao (WBO), Mayweather (WBC), Berto (IBF) and Senchenko (WBA)

So assuming Floyd and Manny are non-starters then you would think it's either Berto or Senchenko. Wonder who the third option is?

Ismael Massoudi is the current WBA Interim Champion. Easy fight to make and pretty winnable.

Berto isn't IBF champion so imagine it would be for that belt, could be Senchenko but he wouldn't fight out Ukraine so doubt it

What happened there then? He won the title from Zaveck fair and square and just 2 months is a little unreasonable to be expected to complete a mandatory defence.

Weird, well in that case I notice Mike Jones is fighting in an IBF eliminator on the 3rd so maybe the winner fights Brook for the vacant title.

I read that Eddie Hearn would be happy for Brook to fight the winner of the soon-to-be-announced vacant IBF title clash between Mike Jones and Randall Bailey next year - which will be won by Jones, i expect. But i can see Matchroom taking Kell the WBA route, as Senchenko is perceived by many to be the weakest of the champions at 10st 7lbs.

Stuart Elwell, who boxed both Senchenko and Brook [and was stopped inside two by both], reckons that the Ukrainian was the slightly better operator. He does admit, however, that Kell has kicked on even further since they fought for the British title in 2009 and can't remember much of that night!

Well Kell dropped Elwell with a jab that night so Senchenko must be a monster!

I've read that the Ukranian is backed by an Abramovic style sugar daddy and it's gonna be practically impossible to get him to fight anyone he doesn't want to so we'll see how it all pans out ...

As said, Elwell doesn't remember a great deal of that fight with Brook, whereas he does with Senchenko; the Ukrainian destroyed him with hooks to the body.

Interesting. Quite scary to think that the punches had such an effect on his memory - reminds you what can happen in this dangerous, dangerous sport ...

Hows is Stuart Elwell doing these days?

P.S You thought of doing like maybe interviews or pieces on ex fighters (like Elwell etc) for the blog?
