Who is Herbie Hide Fighting on Friday?

I heard that Herbie Hide is fighting on the BBC this friday and wondering if anyone here know's who his opponent is?

This is the story :
Former two-time WBO champion Herbie Hide (WHB#55) makes a hastily-arranged appearance on Friday night, as he meets selected opposition over 10 rounds in Dagenham, England. The announcement is good news, considering recent developments.

Hide was arrested over the festive period after a nightclub disturbance in his hometown of Norwich. He was actually the victim of an attack, but was found to be carrying a 10" knife when he made a complaint to police.
That was the latest in a catalogue of troubles that Hide has endured throughout his career, leading him to be branded the "British Mike Tyson" in some circles.

This latest incident came during a lull in Hide's comeback - which started last April - and did not make his progress look very encouraging, especially considering his last public appearance saw him duck out of a British title challenge to Danny Williams.

So at least it looks like Hide's comeback has not ground to a halt after all. Given that he looked very sharp in his last fight, an October win over Alex Vassilev of Russia, it will be interesting to see who he fights and how he performs on Friday.

Also I've heard that Hide is gonna meet the winner of the AUDLEY HARRISON V HERSISIA for the WBF WORLD BELT in what will be one of the biggest domestic fights in BRITISH HISTORY!

If this is true, Hide's camp are just putting pressure on the Board as the fighter's crunch hearing looms on February 7 in London. Yesterday, I read he was on the Dodson-Froch bill in Nottingham in March, which again is an unsubtle way of pressurising the Board.
One gets the feeling they're very worried indeed!

I believe Hide has been matched with a Russian heavyweight, Igor Knockmesparkoutski.

Hey MW

I want to see HIDE vs HARRISON in the summer and I feel it'll happen now. Hide would only risk himself with Audley if it was for a World title and it will be now.

HARRISON WINS KO5 HIDE

Yeah that sounds about right nasty, I'd go for Harrison to win in style.
Hide might be just a shadow of himself these days, but if he manages to land with his big punches Audley might be in trouble. He still has fast hands and a fast start.
Could well happen as it'll be good payday for both, and they both seem confident enough to take the fight.
The first few rounds could be a minefield. Whoever lands first, and I'd go with Harrison KO 2.

You could be right B R

the thing is though, I kinda like Herbie Hide and I feel that he's been
demonized unfairly sometimes.

Anyway, allegedly must realise that he's been played by the BBC. All that money he spent getting Sprott and Williams has been for nothing and once again the BBC hold all the cards when it comes to Heavyweight boxing!

Hey Bennie

Any news on who Herbie Hide is fighting on Friday yet?

KEVIN McBRIDE will prove to be a bloody good opponent and a great fight for Tyson to get into shape with.

McBRIDE is in the best form of his life and has the potential to beat 95% of heavyweights out there.

This fight will give TYSON some much needed rounds and a good warm-up fight for future contests against VITALI KLITSCKO and JOE MESI.

Don't waste any affection on Hide, Nasty. He'll only throw it in your face down the line.
Anyone with any class should steer well clear of him.

It's good that they've put Herbie on the show at such late notice, it spices the card up no end, I'm looking forward to the show even more now. Hide's a bit of a twonk but he's value for money, I just hope they stick him in with someone half decent.

Does anyone know what time the programme starts?

It's about time, Knockmesparkoutski may have a suspect chin but Hide has been ducking him for years, a good grudge match.

I've just thought, surely they had the weigh-ins today, somebody must know who his opponent is by now?
