Now then, who's next?

THE ROCK has decided that the rematch with Louis will happen, but wishes it to be slated for a later date.

And as we all know THE ROCK is the man, so we hope this decision is acceptable to Crease.

He may well be a mandatory for some lucky belt holder.

Awesome, Liston blows it again! Just when he is getting into position, he goes and loses again....

Back to the drawing board....again.

The Juice needs to sharpen up. Would have been at least level if it weren't for the docked points, then he gets himself disqualified in the 14th. Daft.

I thought Holmes was going to edge it close, but it was a good fight, aside from the fouls.....

4 time champ.

Now, for the love of all that's holy, can I just have one single fornicating defence?

Was a very close fight and one that needs to be made before the season ends.

What did the ref stop it? The round was nearly over & (although Joe lost the round) he was able to carry the fight on.

If the ref was looking for signs of difficulty and had planned pre-fight to stop it at the first sign of trounle, then Joe Louis should have been awarded this fight in the first round.

Another shockignrefeing display at work.

:shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame:

Moore stops Norton then? Ken is a bit of an odd one, he ihas shown that he can cope with heavy hitters and outbox them to a victory (as he shown against Shavers & Tua) then (on way to victory) Moore stops him?

Don't renege on your agreements Buzz, the rematch has been signed for Week 32. Rocky got lucky this week.
Plain and simple.

Joe Louis is finished as a fighter. He never fulfilled his promise due to poor management.

Yeah I'm sure "The Bad Man" is.

Joe Louis had a 7-fight win streak between: Weeks 24-30.
Really the work of a finished man.

Yes, but look at the standard of the opponents you threw him in against! Louis is so used to fighting second draft picks and lowly ranked first draft picks that when he steps up to fight a half decent opponent he gets knocked out. My lad, Jeannette went unbeaten from Week 11-20(inclusive) and fought much better opponents than Louis.

Jeanette is definitely ahead of Louis in the HOF queue.

Well Louis has stopped Joe Frazier & George Foreman recently so I guess that hypothosis is proved wrong.
But nice try. :TU:

You think so? Well I'm gonna call you out on that here & now: (Weeks 11-20 you say? But your WBU Tiel reign started in Week 12, I guess we'd better start there.)

Joe Louis: Weeks 12-20
Week 12: W TKO11 vs Joe Mesi (Mesi down in the 11th!)
Week 13: W KO14 vs Mike Tyson WBA Title (Tyson down twice!)
Week 14: L Majority Decision vs Jack Johnson WBA Title
Week 15: W TKO5 vs Gerrie Coetzee (Coetzee down in the 4th!)
Week 16: W KO6 vs Jack Dempsey WBO Title
Week 17: L DQ vs Peter Jackson WBO Title (Joe ahead on all scorecards)
Week 18: W TKO9 vs John L. Sullivan (Sullivan down in the 9th!)
Week 19: L TKO11 vs Jack Dempsey WBA Title (Dempsey down in 6th!) Louis ahead on points
Week 20: W KO4 vs Greg Page

So, you've got:
2 bouts against Jack Dempsey in there (who looks HOF bound)
Mike Tyson
Jack Johnson
Peter Jackson (who robbed Louis)

Joe Jeanette: Weeks 11-20
Week 20: W Larry Holmes: SD (MDT Quarter Final)
Week 19: W Wladimir Klitschko: TKO10~ WBU Heavyweight Title (MDT Second Round)
Week 18: W Larry Donald: TKO10~ WBU Heavyweight Title (MDT Group Stage)
Week 17: W Nikolay Valuev: SD~ WBU Heavyweight Title (MDT Group Stage)
Week 16: W Harry Wills: DQ~ WBU Heavyweight Title (MDT Group Stage)
Week 15: D Max Schmeling ~ WBU Heavyweight Title
Week 14: W John L Sullivan: UD~ WBU Heavyweight Title
Week 13: W David Tua: TKO10~ WBU Heavyweight Title
Week 12: W Wladimir Klitschko: KO5~ WBU Heavyweight Title

Well you've got
2 fights against Wlad Klitchsko (who isn't a top contender)
And a fight against Larry Holmes (who has become somewhat of a late bloomer this season)

It's concrete that Joe Louis has fought better fighters.
:TU:

This isn't a popularity contest which comes down to the reputation of managers. Louis has won more world titles than Jeanette & has consisitently benn ranked higher.

You left out Week 11, why? Maybe because I fought and beat Lennox Lewis and you fought a CPU opponent, Jess Willard?

You doughnut! You had the perfect opportunity to get yourself into the HOF by getting the highest SIM ranked fighter in Joe Louis, but by choosing easy defenses and a number of CPU opponents you have made him a laughing stock. Only you! :TU:

Of course Jeannette hasn't won as many titles and of course Louis is consistently ranked higher. Jeannette was one of the last picks in the draft and he has performed well considering the circumstances.

This isn't about popularity, Creasey. You have to look at it with some perspective.

Louis is rated higher than Jeanette and Holmes (let's include him because of his recent form). Though, you wouldn't have thought so because you can't really split them all apart. Louis should be setting the field alight in comparison.

Agree here with you J. If you look at all three guys, not a lot separates them for what they have done this season. If ypu measure either guy up with Louis head to head for the season, they will hold their own. Since off hand I have Holmes, I think he has done great, despite his terrible beginning.

:TU:

Despite the start Holmes had I always knew he was going to be a very hard fight, more so than most others because of his style.

I was proved right the other week.

Holmes is now performing like we knew he could. Very good season for him.

I disagree. Larry Holmes has had a poor start to the season, which will undoubtedly drag down his evaluation. Jeanette has been a star this season, no doubt - definitely overachieved if anything.

But Louis - an underachiever? No I can't accept that. There is no shame in losing to Ali & Marciano and Louis is a 4-time World Champion (he didn't even do that in real life) with a high win ratio & and a constant top 10 ranking. Not to mention he has been ducked twice in mandatory challenges.

Joe Louis has had an excellent season.

Even with Holmes bad start, he is still only TWO wins behind Louis in the win column. Add on the fact he has fought better opponents for the season as a whole, and he has had two good runs as a champ, and you have to put them on the same level for the season. Now look at what their season rating are. I imagine Louis to be a 15 and Holmes to be a 13. There should be more difference on the resume right now than what is showing. Louis was stopped by the only two people on his level rating wise, Ali and the Rock.

For the rating Louis has in the game.....he isn't doing as good as he should.......
