Cant go past Baer-Carnera. The moment where Baer chases his quarry across the ring, arm cocked, is pure Charlie Chaplin. You can almost see the cream pie in Baer's right hand

Wasn't there some fight somewhere where the poor guy jumped over the ropes and ran at the opening bell?
Seems like I saw it on youtube sometime ago.

Can't remember the opponent, and perhaps the fight itself does not qualify. But I think I remember Pernell Whitaker reaching out and pantsing his rival before the first bell of one of his fights. As funny as that was, I don't understand why he wasn't DQ'd on the spot.
I suppose "defend yourself at all times" applies to your boxing trunks as well.
Has that ever happened to anyone before or since?

...yeah, baer and carnera tops them all...although the beating carnera took throws in a sympathy factor.
it wasn't in the first round, but oakland billy smith climbed out of the ring during a fight with archie moore. he said there was no point in going on as he just knew he couldn't beat archie.

I thought Johnny Nelson -v- Carlos DeLeon was hilarious.
Nelson just shrugged his shoulders for 12 rounds & DeLeon just admired him.

:P

I know George the butcher klinesmith vs an opponent I can't think of the opponent ran up on the turnbuckle to celebrate only to be decked

Bazooka Limon pulled Sharmba Mitchell's trunks down in the middle of the fight one time, and was given a warning not to do it again. Sharmba seemed pissed off and attacked him hard for a minute or two after it. Limon by then was just a name for up and comers to put on their record, so I guess he figured he'd have a little fun.
I always got a kick out of Norman Stone's antics during the Golota-Ruiz fight, when he's yelling at the ref "BOY what a f****ng co**sucker you turned out to be" and then he gets ejected from ringside after so much of it, but the whole time he's out there, something funny happens almost every round.

Between rounds (not sure which), the doctor checks out Thomas during his fight with Tyson, and Angelo Dundee goes MENTAL!!! Anyone seen this? Its an hysterical tirade, reminiscent of a child in a supermarket

A dazed Mosley screaming like a woman and attempting to give Forrest a blowjob in their first fight was pretty damn amusing.
Bowe and Tillery kickboxing at the end of the round, with Rock Newman pulling Tillery over the top rope was great theater.
Holmes' Tarzan screams during the Mercer fight, LOL.
Jones wearing a crown into the ring against Trinidad when he was the sport's saddest laughing stock at the time.
Of course, Tszyu's TKO of Judah

I suppose you have to include McCall's crying vs Lewis. I was thinking of Tom Hanks saying "There's no crying in baseball" line and was busting up at the pure bizarre aspect of that moment.

...buzz.....i hope you mean "funny" as in peculiar as opposed to making one laugh, as my posts do, for example, when i enter something witty, as i do from time to time. i don't think laughing at a poor fellow having a breakdown is hilarious...although i remember when i was a kid and my obese aunt got up and the chair got up with her and we had to pull it away from her and i got yelled at for laughing so hard i couldn't get my breath.

When he turned to the camera and said "I ain't no Tommy Morrison" and then rifled a right hand was one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
Speaking of Morrison, when that drunken guy came out of the crowd to fight him was hilarious. The dough boy was giving him nuggies.
I also thought Jones/Hall was hysterical, Roy was trying to put him away and Hall was mocking him. Foreman gave Richard a standing ovation and he landed like 4 punches in the entire fight.

Yeah, the Morrison comment was great.
Saad, you jogged my memory with that. Remember Mayweather against Bruseles butting in on a convo between the HBO team at ringside DURING the fight!? Then being invited by Lampley to continue
How did I forget this gem --- Ottke knocking Mundine unconscious.

LOL, yeah he was talking about who to bet on in the NFL.

Tate running from Berbick.
Vitaly Klitschko and Bryd thowing weak jabs at each other's gloves.
There was a fight on HBO in the 1980s where the ref moved in to stop the fight. As he was doing so, the guy who lost, threw a punch over the referee's shoulder and knocked his opponent down. However, the guy that went down was proclaimed the winner!

That reminds me a little of Tyson-Savarese, Alp. That one qualifies, too.

That was against Roger Mayweather. Pretty epic fight altogether, what with Whitaker cracking the ref square in the face with a left hook on the break at one point.

I know they were both down, but someone got decked HARD in that bout from memory. Think it was Mayweather doing the falling, tommm. Been years since I saw it though.
