Sturm v Murray

Looking forward to this tonight. Is anyone giving Murray a chance here? I can't see how he would get a decision in Germany so he'd have to win by knock out. I view Sturm as a virtual certainty unfortunately.

I think it will be a very similar to the Macklin fight to be honest. Murray will get close and pressure him ealry on and Sturm will come on strong at the end and get the points win.

I think Murray will raise his profile massively after this fight though and would love to see him in with Macklin after it

Agreed, I honestly can't see Murray winning this one I'm afraid.
Sure Macklin caused the champ some problems but I don't think Martin Murray is anywhere near the level of Macklin at this stage.
A brave effort from Murray but Sturm stops him around the 8th.

Sturm underestimated Macklin and he only realised what was happening around the 8th round and decided to step it up a gear. Sturm is so used to going through the motions in his title fights as most of the challengers don't offer much resistance. I think the Macklin fight was a wake up call for him, especially when every man and his dog scored it to the Brummie. Murray is solid but has skipped up a few levels to take this fight. In my opinion, Murray will take a few early rounds before Sturm ups the pace and forces a late stoppage of some sort.

It`s a strange one, as we haven`t seen Murray in with any real top quality fighters.

he looks strong and is certainly fit and well up for this, but it is a huge ask to beat Sturm in his back yard. Sturm is a solid pro and hard as nails.

A Sturm win would have to be the smart money here.

He's 10/1 on points with Sporting Bet at the moment:

But seeing as we both got burned by my bet of the year - Purdy to stop Lynes - I haven't got the stomach for it

Come on Murray!!!

anyone know what time the fight is?

He's up against it, but as with any unbeaten fighter he doesn't know what his limit is ..........

Can see this being really close and as someone has said I expect a very similar result to the Macklin fight. How awful is that undercard btw.

fornicate it, the 4 after work beers I've just had have seen me pile into Sturm to win at 1/4 with betfred. Just can't see any other result and will add a bit of spice to things!

Murray's shown me nothing to date that suggests he belongs at this level... let's hope I'm proved wrong

Really looking forward to this one, unfortunately I can't see Sturm losing I'm sure he will have the fire back after the Macklin fight, Sturm's always been a bit of an enigma, since he was robbed against De La Hoya he's played it safe too much, as much as I'd like to see Murray win, I'd see to see Sturm have the balls to unify after this fight, or at least take on Abraham at MW, a fight he ducked when Abraham held the IBF.

program on, Murray looked cool enough at weigh in, Sturm looked in great shape as well. think the Macklin fight will make Sturm of trained harder.

Murray has never been near this level yet, proper sink or swim stuff, I think he looks tidy enough but never seen him as world level potential. I take Sturm on points, possibly even a TKO if Murray proves to be out of his depth.

A well respected British national anthem by the German crowd, something alot of the british crowds could take notice of next time a foreign one is played in the UK
