Whey Protein

Running low on my current lot. Got a pretty straight choice between MRM Isobolic or ON Gold Standard. Nutritionally, they look pretty similar so has anyone tried them? Only have the option of chocolate or vanilla in each. Which mixes better? Which tastes better? Which sits easiest on the stomach? Any advice/info welcome.
Thanks.
BTB The Gold Standard is about 2 quid more expensive but over 5ibs that really isn't much.

I'm using Sci-MX Ultragen Whey at the moment. It's fairly expensive, but seems to be doing the bizz. Not the best tasting, or mixing, but it was recommended and seems to be doing the job.
Best tasting i've tried is BSN Syntha-6 Chocolate... tastes like a dream, and mixes brilliantly.
Haven't tried either of the ones you've mentioned... only the above two, Myprotein's standard whey, and CNP Pro Peptide, which is a slower releasing casein protein.
Sorry, pretty useless post

What are your goals? Gaining? Losing? Maintaining? Give me some more insight on what you are trying to acheive then I can help you better. But Yes BSN's products are absolutely the best tasting, but they have the higher prices as well, so you will be paying for that taste! It also gas me gas terribly. But when dealing with whey proteins you will most likely be farting up a stormno matter what you take.

Trying to lose fat and gain muscle. Ideally losing a little bit of weight along the way. I'm at about 90kg's, and would like to get nearer the mid 80's. Body fat percentage of 19.1 that I'd like to get below 15.
Is Syntha-6 not for general use, rather than post workout? I can get it here for a little cheaper than the 2 I listed previously.

Syntha 6 is only made to be used once a day, those are instructions that you need to strictly adhere to, if you are trying to lose weight while building your muscle, I have had some success with Labrada Carb Watchers Lean Body, a little rough on the stomach but its worth it. Fairly reasonable in price, not as tasty as the syntha six, but it gets the job done well.

I'd never heard about Syntha-6 being a once a day job... used to take it morning and night, and didn't get an ill effects. Whats the thinking behind that?

Syntha 6 is high in cholest., this guy wants to cut his weight down, and with 22g of protein per serving, it wouldnt be smart for him to take syntha as he is trying to lose while gaining, he needs a higher protein content drink without the extra things that syntha has to offer. Syntha only offers 22g protein per serving which is good but there are many other good products that have higher protein content with very low caloric intake/cholest/fat. Servings are 1-4 daily but in his case and for what he is trying to achieve from his description, 1 serving per day should be the max for him, I would just recommend a different protein altogether.

No worries... misunderstood, I thought you were saying 1 serving a day in general - not specifically for what he's looking for

Pretty good mate, not as good as Syntha 6 but worth the money.
They also have a hydrolized version of this whey, its a little bit more pricey but its worth it, as in taste, more protein intake(30g) and fast protein release wise.
Gold standard is probably one, if not of the most selling whey protein here in Australia.

I use Dr Mercolas Miracle Whey which is cold processed and organic. It's the best on the market, but fornicating expensive.

Does it taste good? How many grams of protein is in one serving?

Mercola definitely the best I've tried and it tastes great too - in all flavours. I tried Maxi Muscle once and thought my stomach was going to explode afterwards.

What do you guys mix it with? Is skimmed milk bad, or will the extra protein help? Or is water best as it digests quicker?

Used to use skimmed milk. Throw a bit of ice in as well and it's like milkshake. Had to change to water as the supermarket has stopped stocking skimmed and low fat milk. I used to look forward to a shake after an exercise. Now not so much.

I mix it with cranberry juice as it's absorbed quicker than water.

I use myprotein.co.uk because I'm poor, but ON is considered to be numero uno by a lot of people.
