Felix Trinidad vs Julian Jackson at 154

I've always thought this could be an interesting match. Both men are chinny, both are slow-starters, both are monstrous punchers. Honestly I think this comes down to a matter of who lands their bomb first so it could go conceivably go either way any time they fought, but I tend to think Tito would care there with his left hook a little quicker than Jackson would with his right, so I'd go with Tito by KO 4 or 5. I don't see it going beyond 5 rounds either way.

Good fight, Tito did start slow and Jackson was a furiously quick starter. If Tito made it out of the first two rounds, I agree with your prediction.

When I say Julian Jackson was a slow-starter I specifically mean the 1st round. Admittedly you've most likely seen a lot more of his fights than I have, but in every fight I've seen him in, he loses the first round. Frequently coming back to win by KO in the 2nd, but still. He loses that first round almost always.

I saw him score many first round knock outs. Off the top of my head he lost the first round to Norris & Graham in fights he won. I can't think of any others. He was ready to drop bombs before he got out of his dressing room.

Just one more I can think of. He lost the 1st to Agostino Cardamone also, before stopping him in the 2nd. It just seemed like a habit in the fights I saw is all. In the case of Tito who I've seen a whole lot more, he was definitely a slow starter, even though he got the occasional 1st round KO also.

Jackson sends Trinidad into orbit inside 3 rounds

Trindad used to get dropped but almost always got up. I think Jackson is slow out of the blocks for this one and Trinidad may come out very aggressive, aware of the dangers that Jackson posseses and willing to bomb him out early before he gets caught himself.

Bizaerrely I can see Trinidad winning this in 2-3 rounds or Jackson in about 8. Difficult fight to call, with a lot of intangibles.

Jackson within 6. They'll both find each other's chin, and even if Tito is a strong puncher, Jackson is just in another league. Had he fought Vargas the night Tito did, no way in hell does Vargas survive the 1st rd, he might actually die from the punch on the 2nd knockdown.

As far as Tito being dropped and getting up, getting dropped by Jackson is a little different than being dropped by David Reid or Vargas.

Good match up, would have been an awesome fight.

Jackson is one of the more overrated fighters in mythical match ups. Tito would be a deserving favorite. It would be about 3 to 1 that Barry is homeless.

Having seen most of their fights, certainly all available ones, I'd go with Jackson by KO.

Agreed, it would be a great match up but I think Trinidad drops Jackson first.

I'd have to go with Jackson as well. I love both fighters, but you have a fast starter against a slow one, and neither fighter is taking the other's best shots so it all depends on who gets there first. I figure that'd be Jackson.

I give a slim edge to Julian too. But there is no sure thing and Tito would have been a big time favorite. Trinidad was definitely the slower starter, but there wasn't really a number of rounds that it took him. Once he got popped he started firing back. That's just a dangerous game with Jackson.

One thing's for damn sure though, this one ain't going the distance no matter who you like. I'd be surprised if it even went beyond 6 rounds.

I take Tito here. Jackson would run right into those quicker more compact shots. I think this fight would look a bit like the first couple rounds of Tito-Mayorga stretched out in terms of action. Jackson's speed disadvantage would be his downfall against somebody as sharp on offense as Trinidad.
