I'd lvoe to see boxing return to ITV. I've got Sky Sports in the hous,e but it's not the same.
Maybe a few good domestic punchups for ITV just to get us going... Howsabout Macklin vs Martin Murray. That would be a fantastic watch.

well they havent got any other sport now, maybe after the viewing figures channel 5 have been getting other channels may jump on the band wagon. In fairness harrison used to get get brilliant figures and khans fight did very well. Didnt barker do 600,000 on itv 4?

The only way to get back to the Eubank - Benn days is for terrestial television to re-invest in Boxing and it won't be the bbc or channel 4, so itv is the best bet. Channel 5 are making a good fist of it so far, but i can remember the days when fighters like Naz got 18 million viewers on a saturday night. Boxing on sky / cable / ppv doesn't really work, only free to air channels will get the interest in boxing back and re-ignite those great battles of years ago.

a good start for ITV would be the Matchroom stable and get Eubank JNR on the box as this would in itself would draw millions and get a press attention
isnt eubank jr signed up to C5?

We can have the Xfactor (although I feckin hate it), as it finishes at 9pm. ITV could do boxing easily from 9pm - 10:30pm (or longer when needed), and save Piers Morgan Pretends He's Skint and Humble afterwards. I guarantee they would have 80% of the viewing public as all the birds watch Xfactor, and will then let the old man watch the boxing for a bit. It's a winner, I just don't get why they don't??

Pretty much, he's signed to Mick Hennessey.

I think Prizefighter could be massive on free TV, it would capture the neutrals if advertised properly.
If the correct fighters / rivalries were chosen then i reckon it would get massive viewing figures.

I'd prefer to see Hard Knocks on ITV more than Prizefighter. It's a more reliable format in terms of a spectacle IMO.

Agreed.
I also believe that it should have been on at 9pm.
10:35pm is too late for many people who have to get up early for work during the week.

As good as an idea it is, there is no way Matchroom would sign for ITV (ITV's lack of enthusiasm aside) as Matchroom and Sky are joined at the hip!

More diverse range of viewers, more interest, more people to put in celeb in the jungle, more opportunity to advertise sports goods, sports drinks etc.... Access to the greatest sport in the world

Jeff, I admire your enthusiasm, but you'll have to take off the rose-tinted glasses as the sad fact that pretty much everyone on this forum forgets is that the audience numbers aren't as important as the advertising numbers... and most big brands simply aren't interested in reaching what they perceive to be a boxing audience and so won't put in the money that will cause the likes of ITV to revamp their schedule. Shows that they're currently showing will generate more money than boxing, even if the audience figures are lower.
