Johnny Armour is out of his British bantamweight title challenge to Nicky Booth at Nottingham on February 14 (the bill also features Jawaid Khaliq defending his IBO welterweight title, possibly against Ener Julio, and Jamie Moore defending his British light-middleweight title in a revenge match with Scott Dixon).
Booth could now face Isaac Ward, who beat James Yelland recently.
I'm actually quite glad about Armour being out. I wasn't looking forward to his fight with the punishing Booth. Armour looked 'shot' last time out against Nathan Sting.

yeah, i wasn't too keen on watching Armour getting beat up by someone he would of beaten himself a few years back.

I think Armour was showing signs of wear long before the Sting fight, I think the Armour of a few years ago woud have handled an aging Ampofo a lot more easily than he did.

However, I think your giving Sting a major diservice - he's a damn fine fighter. If Armour is too continue he might aswell test himself to see what he's got left. I think Armour vs Booth would have been a cracker, styles make fights and I don't think Armour will find Booth hard to hit.

Thats a great shame..... I was looking forward to that fight.

Talk before the Yelland fight tonight was that Yelland was going in with Booth if he impressed!, well he didn't!!

Yeah, it must be some problem in training, I like both guys and thought it had the promise to be a really good fight and I wanted to see whether Armour still had something left as a good form Armour would beat Booth I think. But having said that I don't want to see a weight drained or faded Armour get beaten by Booth.... perhaps his gymn form was bad and that's why they pulled him out... if he can't improve on his Sting fight form Johnny would be wise to quit, though Sting is very good Johnny looked like all the tough battles and father time had caught up with him that night and it was sad to see....

Prior to Naz, the last man to have beaten Paul Ingle was Johnny Armour in the 1990 ABA flyweight final.

I ve always thought that he didn't ultilize his talents fully... I remember that argument he had with some bobbies after a lil car chase... I don't think he ever fully recovered his earlier form after he returned from his lay off. I was very pleased for him when he had that 3 fight classic with Ampofo ...hope he got some good paydays from them... it'll be a shame if it's all over for him and really it should be if he can't beat Booth because where else can he go.... unless perhaps he moves up to light Feather... but thats a pretty talented division...

Johnny Armour has cited an ankle injury for pulling out on fightnews.com, which also states that Richard Williams injured his hand against Powers on Saturday night.
