To help improve my perormance in BJJ. Really enjoyed it. I think you have to have a strong core first to do it though.
But it did prove that my core is stronger on one side, which was interesting and explains why I defend guard on one side.
I will be trying to include yoga soon.

pilates done properly can be brutal. yoga great for flexibility and strength. tai chi good for balance, flexibility, transferring weight etc. a lot to be said for hollistic exercise. (if u get a teacher that knows his stuff, tai chi may even help with ur bjj, the chin na side of the art and teaching you to relax under pressure. Its a great "tussling" art, mostly used in clinching range. But like anything, u need a proper instructor, not some bloke in a fitness centre).

Started yoga a couple of months ago and was surprised at how tough I found it. Definitely beneficial though - use it as active recovery day.

So this is worth doing?
My housemate has told me to go with him once a week but I personally didn't know Pilates from Zumba.

Considering one is core exercises and the other is dancing, Id give up now!
It was a good core workout, but nothing you couldn't do in a gym. However going somewhere to focus specifically on core was useful.

Sound, will give it a go. Do try and get me core exercises in so this will do nicely, petal.
