I'm not sure what fight the other two judges were watching (two lots of 113-115???) but I thought John Keane had it pretty much spot on at 118-112.

I had it 119-112, giving Froch a share of the 5th, and the last round.

I'm glad it was the British judge that called it closest.

So how did you get 119 112

I think Dan is getting his 2's and 0's mixed up. John Keane scored it 118-110.

Yeah well done Mr Keane. Its good to see a post where our referees are not getting it in the neck. There have been a few dodgy calls and decisions over the last year or so, so its good to give credit where credit is due. All the Uk referees seem to have been around for ages, John Keane, Howard Foster, Richie Davies, Victor Louglin, Dave Paris, Terry Oconner to mention a few. Are there any young referees in the Uk that are up and coming? How do you apply to become a ref?

Keane is a decent official, his scores are usually there or thereabouts and he doesn't jump in as soon as the home fighter throws a flurry that mainly misses.

IJL aside, that's the biggest issue with British refs, the lack of consistency.

IJL should just be banned, abysmal at scoring, absymal at reffing too.

Was he the Judge that scored the Colin Lynes fight a draw? If it was him, it was a pretty awful decision. I think I gave Purdy 1 round and couldn't split them in one.

I thought it was a lot closer on the score cards than the actual fight itself looked. I spoke to someone about this today he said froch lost the fight by a mile and the 2 judges were wrong and I explained that yes he got hammered but as a round by round scorecard it was only 2 or 3 rounds in it as although froch was taking a pasting in most rounds he was always coming forward and any close ones had to go to him as the aggressor. Also ward did a lot of holding and I was surprised he didn't lose points for use of the head. That said ward looks the real deal and very exciting I'm not saying it was a close fight as ward battered froch over the full fight but round by round is a different thing.

So he was taking a pasting but the rounds had to go to him simply because he threw more punches?

Froch might have gone forward but he was getting caught all the time, by a counter puncher who goes forward too.

John Stewart had it 95-95 after 10 rounds,

I haven't got the score card in my pocket as we speak but I'll search through the hundreds I always keep from every fight!!!

I didn't say froch won the rounds he took a pasting in I just said as he was the aggressor any close rounds should go to him. Ward was holding and driving his head in and was lucky not to get points deducted or at least a warning. That said as a whole froch got battered but fights are not scored as a whole they are scored round by round.

I am not a judge and this is just how I see it we all have opinions.
