It's not official yet, but there have been reports in the Quebec and British media today that this fight will likely happen April 2012 in Montreal. The Daily Mail says a rematch in the UK in the summer has also been agreed to:

Good matchup to look forward to.

Not a good fight for Froch I feel. Bute clear UD, or maybe a late stoppage.

That was my initial reaction (the clear UD, not the stoppage), as I think Bute's style could, much like Ward, give Carl fits. However, the only question mark over Bute in the wake of the first Andrade fight is his durability, and if anyone could test that properly it's Carl... given that I'd actually say clear UD to Bute or Froch late stoppage.

This will be a lot less of an ask than Ward.
Froch is well capable of roughing this guy up, he's not half the slickster that Ward is.

Bad move for Froch imo, i noticed he started to look old against Ward and can really see him getting stopped,Carls punching power is well overrated against quality fighters and he isn't fast enough for these fresher younger guys anymore

Good fight for Carl, why not ? He'll get a nice pay day over there, Bute wont knock him - he'll out box him, but he's no way as good or slick as Ward, and he's looked a bit vulnerable at times, so Froch will fancy this.

F*cking hell, if Froch comes straight out of the Super 6 and goes in against Bute then fair play to the man. Rate him or not, the guys recent list of opposition is insane for a British fighter, he'll certainly be missed once he's gone.
You've plenty of fighters who would be pretty disheartened after a fight like that. To look to go in against the next best straight after deserves nothing but the upmost respect, win, lose or draw.
Every other British boxer over the last XX amount of years needs to step up.

At this stage of his career and after his recent run I wonder whether it may do Carl more harm to fight lower grade opposition, he could struggle to get motivated and put in a stinker. I would like to see him in with Kessler over here and then Bute.

Carl quite rightly wants a home fight next, so I'd be surprised to see Bute-Froch in Montreal straight away (unless the Canadians dig real deep)
