Khan did not win that fight and should stop taking the limelight away from the new champ.

This was reported on skysports, I've had to edit this because I put 'rematch' instead of 'appeal' at first.

In all honesty what difference does it make? The rematch will happen because the money for Peterson will far outway his IBF title.

True, but I like to see that Khan and Golden Boy aren't getting there own way.

There was no way that decision was going to be overturned. Could you imagine the precedent that would set if it was ruled that a decision could be overturned?! Everyone would be doing it and to be honest the fight could have gone either way in any case.

Well its the difference in the power in negotiations I would have thought. This will make it a voluntary defence instead of a mandatory and give Team Peterson a lot more power. Which is nice.

Golden Boy are making a mockery of any supposed right to appeal by seeking to overturn any fight they lose. Should be punished, like in football when appeals are found to be frivolous IMO - with the money being awarded to the real winner

What exactly were the grounds for appeal? That the referee didn't warn him enough? That the cards were added up wrongly?

Mr Khan tweeted yesterday that the commission has apparently lost the cards. I said there was a picture of them on BoxRec News if he wanted to see them.*

Good, he needs to stop blaming everyone else for not doing enough to win and accept he lost the fight and move on. The more shit he pulls like this the more people hate him. He is a good boxer and will be a champ again and will probably batter Peterson next time out, but still a complete tool.

Just read that this appeal will be heard in January so not sure where the OP got his info from.

If Peterson was any kind of man, he'd offer Khan an immediate rematch.

Like it or not, those point deductions were contentious & the fact that Khan went to Peterson's backyard just adds to the contention.

Peterson should offer to come to England to fight Khan, although I can't see him willing to do that, so he should at least offer to fight him in a neutral part of the USA in my opinion.

I don't see what's so contentious about a boxer being docked points after repeated infractions. Had the referee not warned Khan it would have been contentious, but he did. Over and over and over again.

That may be true for the first deduction. However, I would generally consider myself warned after a point was taken off, so how does that explain the further infractions?

This loss to a fringe contender has been a bigger PR disaster than his destruction by the Columbian bin man, running over a man in his 4x4, slagging the entire Olympic set up off, calling McCracken an idiot, declaring an entire nation rascist, hotel room break-ins, and sending mms pics of his maggot - all added together.

Points or no points, the fight was dead level and could have gone in any direction. Which makes his claims robbery even absurd.

If he put the same effort into his fighting, that he does into brattish complaining, this scenario would not have occurred.

Can you believe these guys? The IBF have already said no, so they launch a brand new appeal.

Yip, they are making themselves look worse. Going on and on and on. Ppl would have more respect for khan, if he would jst move on. Admit that the better man won, n that the ref done his job. Am a khan fan too, he' acting like a spoilt school boy. Be a man!! About this you lost, get over your self.

Maybe the end game isn't really about getting the verdict over-turned or an immediate re-match ... maybe its sending out a warning to any ref or official who doesn't side with a GBP boxer??? And thats kinda more worrying..

Maybe its just all a ploy to get the governing bodies to sacntion an immediate rematch, making Peterson fight Khan again or lose the belt. Maybe Peterson knows he was lucky in winning, ive not seen the fight and have no intension but maybe Peterson knows he will lose a rematch and would rather cash in on other fights. Amir is proberly doing all he can to get a rematch granted.

And people think Golden Boy are better than Top Rank....add this into the fact they couldn't even have the correct sized ring for the Goerge/Andrade fight and the Golden Boy "good guy" image is slowly being turned into one that are a bunch of clueless fools.

Golden Boy are inherently evil. They are King/Arum combined. They are your next 50 years of pro boxing, if indeed the sport survives that long.

This is what boxing has become, throwing a hissyfit over a loss, just get on with it and have a rematch.
